Chapter 1 - FLATMATES??

It was my first day of college with new people and the new atmosphere was also a bit weird because the classes had already started a week ago, but the curiosity inside me was waiting to meet new people, new friends, and more. I walked into the tall building, the infrastructure was so good, which could perfectly match the ones in my dreams, each classroom was spacious, and the auditorium was too big. The college looked the exactly same as something in my fantasy. I walk around the college as I heard most of the people speaking about Krish. They said that he was one of the most studious students who moved to Bangalore from Mumbai and joined this college not only this, but I also heard that he was in a major accident during his teenage and survived it with injuries but lost his loved ones in that. He was a very mean, head-weighted, stubborn person. I heard that he is very merciless. He never let anyone close to him, he has never created a good bond with anyone. Neither he speaks to anyone nor lets anyone speak with him. I tried to keep myself away from him but my fate, he was my classmate.

The first period started, and my lecturer, Mrs. Ananya, entered our class while we greeted her. She starts to teach about the Basic structure and function of cells.

"Good morning students so let's start class with a quick revision from the previous week's classes. So my first question is to name the main lipids which compose the plasma membrane" she asked a question to which 5-6 students raised their hands and Krish was one among them. She points to Krish while he starts his answer, "The main lipids which compose the plasma membrane are cholesterol, phospholipids, and glycolipids." The revision goes for a few more minutes for every single question, Krish raised his hand later when she was doing the explanation he was observant, and even during the break between the classes, he was only reading or writing while others were making friends and chit-chatting

Eventually, all the classes were completed. I got a call from the house broker whom I had hired to search for a PG to stay. She explained to me about a house which is nearby to the college and told me that she would meet me within 10 minutes in the college canteen. I waited in the canteen having some snacks and the house broker arrived I greeted her.

"Hello Miss Megha, so we found a few PGs nearby but there is only one which had acceptation to all your conditions that is no time limits, but a boy lives in there."

"Okay, so is he a trustable one to live with."

"He seems to be a very reserved one, unkind but there are no complaints about his attitude towards girls."

"So please proceed but on a condition, I would stay there for a month in case of any trouble I need the money to be paid back to me and I need to see him and house. Later, I will decide whether to move in."

"Give me a few minutes, let me speak to that boy," she said and called someone. She spoke for a few seconds and informed me that the owner agreed to the condition. Later she left and when I was above to take a leave, I saw Krish barking at some boy who accidentally bumped into him. He even scolded a girl who tried to help him collect the files which were fallen all around. This made me take the decision that I should never come face to face with him. I prayed that we never cross lines.

That evening, I reached the PG. It looked pretty good from the outside; I walked towards the nameplate which read "Krish Malhotra" Oh my god! This name Krish made me a little disturbed, I just hoped that it wasn't the one from the college, praying I entered the house. It was so clean and everything was arranged properly. A figure came walking straight towards me which looked fit with a good structure. With a warm stern voice, he said, "I'm Krish Malhotra" I carried a smile and looked at his face praying, but guess what the game of life is filled with mysteries and unexpectation along with it when my fate adds more crazy things like this, it was Krish from my college itself, my mouth drops as I see him although he failed to recognize me. "I'm Megha," I uttered emotionlessly. He showed me around, the house was pretty big and luxurious. Then he asked me to be seated and gave me a glass of orange juice.

"I have no restrictions here. You can be however you want", he said

"Thank you"

"So are you going to shift here"

"Can I tell you my decision by tomorrow"

"Take your time, but you seem familiar, have we met before."

"Try to recall," I said and left.

It was very confusing to whether to move in there or not at the same time I have to vacate the rooms by tomorrow morning. I decided to visit Mrs. Ananya, our Anatomy teacher, she knew about most of the students in person. So I thought of asking her for a solution. I walked into her house and she welcomed me warmly.

"Ma'am, I need to ask you something.", I said.

"Please.", she said with a smile.

"Ma'am, I was searching for a PG. I have found one now, but it belongs to Krish Malhotra of our class and I heard things about him that...."

"He is unkind, rude and all but Megha listen Krish is all of that. He turned like this after the accident in which he lost everyone because of that he is suffering from PTSD, I strongly believe that if someone stays with him, his PTSD recovery may improve. You know if someone stays with him, his character might change positively."

"So, me shifting wouldn't create problems?"

"Not at all indeed he would never disturb you, and I suggest you move in there because it will be helpful for him in his recovery and change of character on other hand, he will surely be a good company for you and you won't be alone anymore.", she declared and I left from there with a decision to move there.

The next day I called Krish in the morning and informed him that I will be moving in there in an hour or two. I shifted to the house and paid him the advance. I chose a room nearer to the kitchen and unpacked all my things by night. I set up everything. I walked towards the kitchen it was filled with utensils but lack of groceries I knew it because I saw the dustbin filled with empty boxes and cans of packed food, so I went to the nearby shop and purchased a few essentials and cooked for myself and as usual, I prepared more than necessary so I put the extra food in a container and thought to put them in the fridge. The fridge was jam-packed with canned and packed foods even instant foods where I had no place to keep the remaining food. I kept the food on the table and went back to my room to complete my assignments. After completing I walked out to fill my water bottle and I saw a note beneath a cup filled with chocolates it read as "These chocolates are for you because I ate whatever you had cooked it tasted good" it was sweet of him writing that but I would have been happier if he told me this in person.

It has been more than six months since I moved in here Krish always used to have arguments with me because Krish being Krish always had an answer as no for whatever I asked so it lead to many arguments. We speak mostly only about studies. We had a lot of quarrels because he used to eat non-vegetarian every weekend he eats chicken and does not ever dispose of them properly which leads me to clean all those not only that but also he is very clumsy, to be honest, he can be called Krish Messy instead of Krish Malhotra. He never allows me to sleep well as he wakes up, in the morning at 5 and plays songs loudly while he exercises which disturbs my sleep. It is not that I am very good and all even I steal his notes now then, copy them and keep it back what to do his notes are very amazing and easy to understand so I take the benefit of it. I even steal his chocolates because I am a chocolate lover and he knowingly gets them and refuses to share them with me so I take them on my own. I also asked him to allow me to buy a dog but he denied it no matter how much beg him he doesn't approve it, he said that both of us are very busy taking care of a pet and I, at last, agreed with him because he does have a point with him.
