A month after
It was a stormy night, a lone child drenched by rain and covered with mud was running through the forest. Thanks to her nimbleness and quick thinking as well as durable clothing, she had managed to avoid any light or serious injury since she started her journey, although the only drawback were her aching muscles. She had been running for days from her home till she came upon this temple, the last hurdle to get to it was getting through the forest.
Hopefully, the temple would be a safe haven for her. Thus, she asked the powers that be for aid in getting into the temple so as not to offend whoever's temple it was, after all, the guards looked fierce and focused, they would easily spot her as an outsider if she simply walked up to them asking to be let in.
Hearing her desperate prayer, Hahaoya responded to it as such desperation reminded her of Satoshi McCloud. Hence, she would enable her to get into the temple to ensure her safety before alerting Satoshi McCloud.
First, she began the process by talking to her telepathically. Initially, she thought she going crazy by hearing someone talk to her in her head, but Hahaoya was quick to assure her that she was not going crazy, telling her that she i.e. Hahaoya was a goddess who answered her call for help in regards to entering the temple. But, to do so, she would have to know about everything her in order to establish that she was not a threat and thereby assure the owner of the temple of same.
She was Kairi Suzuki, who according to her own account was the daughter of a noble Kentaro Suzuki from one of his many mistresses. She did not know who her mother was because weeks after she was born, her mother was sent away probably back to the slums where she came from, to avoid a scandal should her father's authoritarian wife find out.
Thus, her father gave instructions to a select few of his trusted aides to take her into hiding. This occured when she was five years old, lasting for 15 years till she was twenty years old, when she decided to run away from home without telling anybody. She was tired of all the secrecy, it was so much/so bad that she had not even seen her father in person, not knowing what he looked like. All information on him was kept away from her in order to ensure that she did not have any desire to go looking for him in future, so as not to cause trouble when it came time for succession.
They were worried about the issue succession?, to her that whole issue was a load of nonsense. Her reasons for saying that were clear, she did not and would not claim when it came down to succeeding her for two reasons
1. She was born out of wedlock
2. Her mother was a commoner, a simple maidservant who became the master's mistress at his whim, therefore, she was not a pure blooded noble.
She wanted a new life, away from her former sheltered lifestyle, after all, she would not get anything positive out of it if things continued that way. She would remain an outcast among her own people.
Under a new identity and in a new place, she could forge out who she wanted to be, someone who was not classified nor defined by her status.
Observing her, Hahaoya correctly guessed what was in her head, i.e. she wanted a fresh start far away from her old life in which she could decide for herself what she wanted. That line of thinking was in line with Hahaoya's ongoing plans, fitting itself as the next puzzle piece. Cards played right, everything would go according to her design.
Carefully, she told Kairi Suzuki that she could provide her with the new life she desired that would see her old dull life erased completely, however there was a small yet important condition that had to be fulfilled for it to happen successfully.
Her daydream about the possibility of having a new start was interrupted by Hahaoya's words, Kairi Suzuki asked her what the condition was. Hahaoya wearing a solemn/ serious expression on her face, told her that for the transition to work, she had to leave her old surname of Suzuki behind her, meaning she had to cut all ties with her original family.
In return, she would acquire the new identity of Kairi McCloud in addition to a new family, becoming the newest member of a steadily growing clan.
Kairi Suzuki did not hesitate, taking the initiative. She asked Hahaoya to lend her some of her power, reminding her of Alec McCloud's zest; they would fit perfectly as siblings.
If Kairi Suzuki had the same attitude as Alec McCloud, Hahaoya was sure that she would do exactly what he did but maybe with a few exceptions. Compiling to her request for power, Hahaoya gave it to her promptly once eager to see how a simple human would use her power. Back in the olden days, she only gave powers to her priests afraid that normal humans would not be able to handle it.
Looking at it, Alec McCloud was the first human in 800 years to successfully assimilate the powers she gave him and became a god, and now someone else was going to do it a second time.
As she had done for Satoshi McCloud earlier, she conjured up mana stones possessing the same powers of:
1. Fire
2. Water
3. Earth
4. Wind/Clouds/Storms
5. Light
6. Lightening
7. Darkness
8. War/Weapons
9. Knowledge
10. Diplomacy
11. Wisdom/Strategy
12. Healing/Plagues
13. Creation/Destruction
14. Love/Desire
15. Time/Fate
etc
Again like she did with Satoshi McCloud, she telepathically told Kairi McCloud to choose everything, that way she would be on equal footing in power with her elder brother Satoshi McCloud.
After ensuring Kairi McCloud had assimilated her powers and learned to control them through thorough training in a time pocket that lasted for 3 months, she immediately sent her to No Man's Land with a message to her brother Satoshi McCloud to cease his actions. In return for doing so, she would allow him assist Alex McCloud in finding his culprit and punishing him or her as he saw fit.
She was certain that he would grab this new offer tightly like he did the previous ones she had given him.
Hahaoya told her to make sure she made an entrance that would be remembered for time to come. Plus, she was allowed to use her discretion in approaching her brother Satoshi McCloud.
Kairi McCloud felt a nervous knot form in her stomach, it was a bit frightening for her, because she practically stepping into a whole new and different world; once she did, her past was effectively over, she was no longer Kairi Suzuki, but she was now Kairi McCloud.
She descended into No Man's Land in a Whirlwind mixed lightening, water and fire.
Choosing her words carefully, she spoke, "My Brother Satoshi McCloud, our mother, Hahaoya requests that you cease your current actions against this Majin and in return she would allow you to go to the Mortal world and assist Alex McCloud in finding as well as punishing your culprit as you see fit.
Her words made him stop, giving the Majin respite from their torment, he was not surprised that Mother Hahaoya, Mother goddess of High Mountain would bring that up to get him to stop, she was resourceful, knowing where to strike to get what she wanted out of him; looking back, she convinced him to become a god by allowing him wield various godly powers to do as he wished.
If all of that was not masterful subtlety then he did not know what was. It was textbook work, precise as well as perfect.
So far she had kept her word allowing him to perform an Intervention to save his other mortal self in Alex McCloud. So, he would believe her to keep her word this time as well.
She also said that the entire pantheon including Annaisha, Kagami and myself who are your new family in this new world, would like to watch you take your revenge. Therefore, we must return home to High Mountain quickly brother because we would not want to miss out on anything you do there.
His head and mind were with different emotions, the appearance of Kaori McCloud was both a happy occasion, as he now had a little sister he could cater for and spoil when necessary, but it was also problematic based on the idea that there were more eyes on him, watching his every move. It boiled down to Mother Hahaoya being overprotective and a bit pushy to have him forget his revenge, if not why would she add another person to watch him; Annaisha and Kagami were company enough, however, it just became a crowd when Kaori McCloud was added to the mix.
From his observation of her Aura, he could see that she was equal in power in power to him. He could already see the future, everything would become a competition between them, be it simple racing or fighting enemies, a common sibling problem he hoped he would not have to deal with constantly going forward.
Returning to High Mountain was silent, he did not even speak with Kaori McCloud, his new sister, he would only do so when he confirmed what she said about Mother Hahaoya's offer. Every other thing would have to wait. Kaoari McCloud left him to join Annaisha and Kagami hoping to lend a hand to whatever they were doing, as a means of getting to know them
Expecting his arrival, Mother Hahaoya had sent all other gods away to handle various tasks relating to rebuilding No Man's Land, leaving only the two of them alone. This conversation was going to be tough.
First, he asked her about the offer of allowing him do as he saw fit with his former colleagues who had tried to kill him, smiling at him as she always did, she said it was. She said he had earned it by succeeding in his test to become a god and his intervention.
The look on her face was happy as she still smiled, but he could see that was an edge to it, meaning that like all other times she had granted him something such as power or the right to save himself, there was a catch to this one too, not just getting him to stop his attack on the Majin; this one included something else, a second condition.
It was a leap of faith in asking her what the condition was, after all, back in his old world, he knew that he could not ask his superiors too many questions; you usually only worked with what they gave you out of the company's resources. That same system applied here to some degree. So he would ask one last question.
Consequently, he asked her what the condition was. She told him that while he was allowed to interfere to help bring them to justice, he was not allowed to hurt nor kill them in retaliation for what they did, instead mortal law enforcement would with their punishment; he a god would not do so.
