Julian had been expecting or secretly hoping that Alfred was going to be the one to drive the to the airport but he was disappointed to see one of the younger drivers take the wheel. Don K had whispered in Julian's ear before he had left and the words he said were "I know that you are quite smart but it tends to get in one's head, be careful and live like an ignorant prick so that your enemies would never be the wiser". Julian had held these words key to his heart and it was the same reason why he had been hoping on Alfred being the driver.
"Why didn't Alfred take us?" he asked the driver who was humming a tune as he tried to avoid eye contact with them from the rear-view mirror.
"He had other things to attend to, so he said. Sir" the young driver was eager to show Julian how responsive and polite he was but there was no way in hell that Julian was going to tip him for a ride that was supposed to be free.
