With hundreds of thoughts running through her mind and a nervous feeling that made her tommy rumble loudly reminding her that she hadn't eaten anything all afternoon long. After contemplating on what to say she just decided to act natural and end the call quickly before she said something stupid.
"Oee... I am sorry Mr Feng, Linx sent me this number to reach out to Manager Desiree" she said bitting her finger nails nervously. Why was she so nervous anyway? It's not like she worked for him or something but she knew one thing "never get into the Feng's family's bad book" especially not CEO Minde even other business men were scared of his tempter, not like she followed celebrity or business gossip but she knew all this from the time she spent with San Yui. Been around many cheap rich men and knowing how to treat them and also gain any information she needed was a skill she long mastered when she was still under the leash of Miss Song Gie, the lady that had bought her when she was 9 years old. Although after gaining her freedom she decided to live a normal life and steer clear of any complicated situation with the rich, she didn't hate them but she despised the bad eggs among them.
"Linx sent you a text?" Feng inquired a bit shocked that Linx texted someone instead of just asking Desiree to do it.
"Yes he did"
"And you're his?"
"I'm his Personal assistant Mr Feng"
"PA?"
Minde couldn't believe his ears, after Linx's other PA was caught selling off information about Linx's personal life and schedules to media outlets, Linx had blunty refused to get another PA for a whole one year, and now out of the blue he has one? And a girl? He always loved to steer clear from girls except Daiyu their childhood friend that's why the media speculated he was gay. Crazy things are happening Minde thought.
"Umm mm " Dana blurted blooping her head up and down to signify a yes before she remembered she was speaking on the phone. Quickly she replied
"Yes"
Aishh what's wrong with me today, she said in low whispers.
"Alright then, call up Linx and ask him to forward Desiree's number" this time his voice sounded cold and distant. This was his business tune she thought to herself. Before she could reply he hung up on her.
"Huh? He hung up on me? Tch what did I do in my past life oh lords of heaven that I have to go through such torture meeting two arrogant brothers at this point of my life" Dana yelled fake crying like Gu Xixi would. The thought of Gu Xixi made her start to worry, whenever Xixi was going to stay out late she usually called the land line since Dana was always home before 10pm, but there was still no call and it was already past 10.
Worried Dana typed her number out to call her, she always had Xixi's number memorised in case of any emergency. After ringing for two times unanswered, Dana was about to give up when a deep husky voice answered the call.
"Hello"
"Who's this and why's Gu Xixi's phone with you?! Is she alright? Where's she?! " Dana fired the questions all at once already in a state of panic..
"Which one do you want me to answer first, calm down she's in the police station" the man replied replied.
"Police station? How? Why? What did she do?"
"Haiiyaa all this questions, you re sounding like my wife, come down to the district police station to make inquiries" .
Within 20 minutes Dana walked into the police station totally forgetting to call Linx, all that mattered at this moment was Xixi. After making inquiries and going through some formalities she was finally allowed to see Xixi.
"Hello officer" Dana said bowing slightly at the middle aged man she was directed to meet that would take her to where Xixi was kept.
"You're here to see Gu Xixi? "
"Yes sir"
"Oh I see you're the one that bombarded me with questions earlier" the officer said giving her a curious look. She didn't know what to reply so she stayed quiet.
"Follow me" he said matching forward to an inner part of the station.
Immediately Xixi eyes fell on Dana she burst into tears, which made Dana run up to her.
"Danny....I didn't do it I promise..."
Xixi was crying profusely, she didn't need to know the crime that brought Xixi her but she knew she was innocent except it involves stealing candies or holding on to any BTS member and refusing to let go those are literally the only crimes she could commit if anyone asked Dana.
"Wh..at.. happened" Dana managed to ask Xixi who hugged her so sightly through the prison bars.
"It was Hu Chaoxiang, he told me he had broken up with Ah lam and wanted me back.... he's been bringing me gifts and taking me out, although I didn't accept him back I just wanted to give him some time before I accepted him.. he insisted that I take the gifts he bought and even had them delivered to our house... Xixi was emotionally choked as she tried to keep herself together while telling Dana what had happened...after sobbing back the fluid in her nostrils she continued.
"I took back the stuff to go give him when he asked we go for Coffee after I finished my shoot, only to go there and be ambushed my Ah Lam who claimed I stole her things and then called the cops"
Xixi burst into tears with her last words, She had dated Chaoxiang a while back but he broke up with her to date a socialite that liked him, leaving Xixi broken hearted and now she was in trouble because of him.
Dana who had been listening quietly understood Xixi's situation and the reason why she was arrested without much evidence was because Ah Lam was from a rich family and if care isn't taken she might want to keep Xixi behind bars all because of that stupid Chaoxiang that she, Dana never liked, she knew a player when she saw one, and she knew from the first day Xixi introduced her to him that he was trouble, a little rascal looking to feed off every girl he could find.
"Shhh don't worry I'll get you out" Dana said patting Xixi's head softly.
"Time's up the officer who had brought her earlier announced"
"I'll go see if I can arrange your bail by tomorrow" Dana assured Xixi as she bid her goodbye.
When she got out of the station she discovered that she had eight missed calls from Linx and an unknown number she suspected was Desiree's, she was about to call Linx back when she received a notification from weibo. How did she even get a weibo account? She hadn't open one, it was probably the work of Jin Min but at this point it didn't matter, the trending topic stunned her.
"Failed Idol and struggling actress Gu Xixi goes to prison for stealing from ex boyfriend's current girlfriend"
What the??! She couldn't believe her eyes, Ah Lam seemed to have more than just a boyfriend beef with Xixi with the way she was handling this matter cause she was a hundred percent sure it was Ah Lam's doing. She even brought back Gu Xixi's past image as a failed Idol, how shameless!! This was going to ruin the career Xixi was trying so hard to build, and also destroy her believe, after so many years of wallowing in self pity when her career flopped at 18 she had tried to pick herself up again and comeback to the industry as an actress even though it wasn't easy been bossed around and taunted by old junior colleagues who were now her seniors in the industry, but Xixi kept pushing on and this act of Ah Lam would destroy her career for good if the truth doesn't come out.
Xixi had been out of the lime light for a long time now, and now for the first time when she trends again it has to be about something bad?
Dana swore she wouldn't let it happen to the only person she could call friend and family, she was going to teach both Ah Lam and Ho Chaoxiang a terrific lesson for messing with her friend.
Pulling out her phone she called Linx.
"Mr Linx I won't be able to come to work tomorrow, I'm taking leave" before Linx could reply she hung up.
"What the hell?! She hung up on me Feng Lixin?! Linx yelled, the only time he called his real full name and not "Linx" the name he adopted when he first debuted was when he was about to explode and Desiree who was arranging documents beside him knew better then to stay there for even the next minute.
"She dare hung up on me after asking for leave without me even approving of it she hung up! Linx yelled looking like he was about to murder someone.
"Umm...I'll go count the stars" Desiree said running out like a scared little mouse.
