Our little parties flight to where I knew the Anemo Hypostasis boss would typically reside was a rather swift one despite Lumine wanting to be a damned loot goblin, and trying to stop our flight across the rolling hills of Mondstadt to clear out every damned chest on the way...
I haven't even gotten 100 percent clear on Mondstadt in the game in my previous life. And with this real version of Teyvat being a hundred times bigger if not more than the game version, I wasn't going to waste weeks for Lumine to take out maps and search every damned corner of the land in quadrants like she wanted to.
Once we reached the abandoned shrine in which the Anemo Hypostasis was residing, I saw from between the surrounding pillars of the structure that the meter-and-a-half-tall cube-shaped creature seemingly was resting as we approached.
"Ok so remember that diamond-shaped thing in the center is its weak point, and its projected Anemo constructs won't harm it all if you can harm them," I warned Lumine as Eula supposedly already had some experience in fighting the more erratic Electro Hypostasis that would regularly leave its lair to the south and seemed to take joy in bullying the Hilichurls that congregated in the small city of their kind to its west.
But sometimes it got adventurous, and the knights had to slap it back into its territory so it would continue being an ageless monster slayer for an area that didn't have anyone except monsters living within.
"So will killing this monster hurt, like the ecosystem or whatever is around here?" Paimon asked quietly as we took in the Anemo Hypostasis.
But Eula only scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Absolutely not. Not only would another Anemo Hypostasis take its place within another couple of years by evolving from an Anemo Elemental like yours, but these damned Hypostasis no matter which one that transforms. Just likes to stir up storms every once in a while, and for whatever reason, steal alcohol from Diluc's family vineyard over the generations."
Me, Lumine, and Paimon all shared a look, while all equally thought how the Anemo Hypostasis's must have gotten its habits from its patron god of its element in Venti, the drunken bard.
"Well, let me start it I guess." I muttered as I concentrated and high in the air above the open 'boss arena' surrounding us, a large glyph appeared in the sky, and from the glyph came the falling form of Paimon's favorite thing in all of the world. A multi-ton Ruin Grader falling from the sky directly towards the Anemo Hypostasis.
A massive rumbling shattering noise rang out, as however the Anemo Hypostasis could see, it was able to notice the falling form of the massive machine only in time for it to zip to the side and encase itself in a box of Anemo constructs but the split second it attempted to retreat didn't give it enough time to avoid the Ruin Grader's hand that that slapped at its fleeing form as it at least avoided the main body.
With a shattering noise, like that of glass being suffering a violent collision from a fall, the Anemo constructs surrounding the Anemo Hypostasis, shattered allowing the already charging forms of Eula and Lumine to gang up on its fragile core while I was mentally ordering the Ruin Grader to follow Paimon's orders.
"Let's go Stompy! Crush that Anemo whatsit with your massive foot and blast it with your omega laser Haha!" Paimon cackled madly as she rode atop the massive head of my Ruin Grader pointing dramatically at the form of the Anemo Hypostasis that had blew aside the girls with conjured hands of Anemo energy that they couldn't break without building up their elemental power.
Just to test that theory to see if our elemental power was weaker than the Anemo Hypostasis, I gathered a large amount of Geo energy and taking some inspiration from Full Metal Alchemist I made a couple large truck sized hands made out of Geo crystals and then with an ear popping booming noise the hands slammed shut around the Anemo Hypostasis as Paimon's Ruin Grader stomped forward towards the struggling clenched Geo construct hands.
"Jake, make your Geo hands open a bit! Stompy use your doom laser of death to bake that stupid Hypostasis in the construct's hands!" Paimon ordered and my face twitched, as hearing Paimon the normally oh so damned useless mascot actually participating in battle was distracting the hell out of me.
Understanding Paimon's idea to hold the Anemo Hypostasis in place so the Ruin Grader could actually concentrate the solid beam energy from its massive eye I did the best I could to open a small hole so that it could began shooting the massive beam of light into the Geo constructs hole and for a moment I thought that that would be all the fight would end up being.
But with a shattering noise that sent the Geo crystals flying everywhere even draining my own aura at the impact and having Eula block her and Lumine's form with her claymore, the Anemo Hypostasis broke free and sent a condensed bomb of Anemo energy into the Ruin Grader's eye making it explode at the conflicting energies.
The Anemo Hypostasis, seemingly roared with its 'voice' coming across like a howling wind that threatened to pop out our eardrums but its roar wasnt merely a sign of its fury, no it also had massive wings spreading more than five meters wide sprout from its form and then with a flap of it's wings the Anemo Hypostasis blurred in my vision as it moved so fast that it left an after images as it rammed its Anemo covered form like a cannon ball into the Ruin Grader so hard that the massive machine actually was lifted off the ground and thrown out the boss arena.
Feeling the self-repair system in the Ruin Grader kick in and begin draining the hell out of my aura I grimaced and cut off the summon from my aura, with the act making it fade away much to Paimon's displeasure as I didn't want to drain my aura too much when in the middle of a high intensity battle that I didn't know how much longer such a battle could continue for.
"Hyah!" Eula yelled out as a war cry slashing into the Anemo Hypostasis with her Cryo covered claymore as I myself ran into to join the battle having given all three of us a Geo shield to help with the punishing winds that rammed into us like solid objects so fast were they, to say nothing of the actual Anemo constructs that hit us like a tree being flung at some poor bastard by a tornado.
Taking a que from Eula and her claymore being able to cut through the Anemo Hypostasis's constructs sort of, I began using the Rain Slasher claymore I had, due to my saber not being able to break through the constructs without a lot more weight being put upon it.
"Jake, Eula lets pin it again!" Lumined yelled out as she was thrown back by another Anemo bomb exploding on the ground and then Lumine stomped on the ground and yelled as a large wall adorned with crystal spikes were pulled up from the ground and seeing what she wanted, me and Eula did the same with Eula making a large ice that with another loud shattering noise the three elemental walls collided violently with their spikes sending fragments flying on the inside of our constructs and finally shattering the Anemo Hypostasis's core killing it, with the concentrated Anemo energies within thankfully escaping through the small hole we left at the top of our thick walls we had set up as the thick elemental walls that drained all of our elemental energies cracked and looked about ready to shatter and explode at the deaths wail of elemental demi-god.
"Jake did you get it!" Paimon asked excitedly as we made our elemental constructs fade away, leaving the wrecked remains of the temple the only reminder of the battle that took place here.
