The next morning Paimon once again roused us from our sleep and somehow if anything despite her being up much later stuffing herself on a massive glut of Mora that Lumine definitely regretted giving her as she would periodically throw dirty looks to Paimon the flying fairy seemed to be even more tired than we were.
But then again, she always was the one who woke up before we did.
"So, what should we do until when we are supposed to meet with Venti to give back the Holy Lyre to the church?" Paimon asked as she flew around us while we were walking around towards the adventurer's guild to pick up some commissions to do in the next few days.
"Well, we could go try to meet that super chef in Springvale people I've been talking about. Or we could go talk to Amber or one of our knight friends?" I offered as a suggestion as I offhandedly wondered how Lisa was.
"Oh yeah!" Paimon cried before looking back to Lumine who perked up seemingly also reminded of something. "Lumine didn't you promise Amber and the other girls to have a day out or something after dealing with Dvalin?" At Lumine's nod, she continued. "Maybe Jake can just have some guy time with Kaeya and Diluc while we go shopping with Amber, Eula, and the others!"
Lumine looked at me, and I shrugged in response as I honestly, I didn't mind spending some time to myself, instead, I may just go tour around Mondstadt at high speeds and do a couple of commissions for some spending money as the feast I held in Liyue has emptied my pockets for the most part.
"It's alright I will just go snag a couple of commissions and fly over to do them around Mondstadt. It will give me plenty of time to think and enjoy the winds of Mondstadt. So, I will meet you both at 'Barbatos's church." I said making quotations around saying Barbatos's name as the image of Venti and his antics jumped to mind. "Paimon will make sure to tell Eula you are working hard!" Paimon offered to make me and Lumine look at her weirdly. "What? Paimon noticed how you and Lumine were hugging her during the sleepover and that she needs more friends." She said weakly and I couldn't help but chuckle at how pure Paimon was.
"Thank you Paimon you are a great friend," I said gently patting her on her head making her cough in embarrassment but the smile of a friend she was wearing couldn't be disguised. "Alright Lumine, Paimon I will be back in a few hours, don't hand off the Holy Lyre without me as I would like to speak to Jean, and it would be easier to catch her outside her office."
More like I didn't want her and her sister Barbara to get caught up in a conversation and her nation's Archon to be mugged by a foreign military literally at the church's front steps.
I mean literally come on a bunch of vision and delusion wielders briefly duke it out on the front steps of the nation's massive church and it took half an hour for someone to find the unconscious body of Lumine on the ground?
'Maybe I should actually go get Diluc? He would love the chance to even the score against the harbingers that ganged up on him.' I thought before cutting that thought out as I would have no way to prove that the Fatui would be attacking us as we left the church anyway. Not to mention with how infamous he was, purely him being within the city could scare them off and I wouldn't want them attacking us in a new location and time.
Here in the city, we would be able to quickly get reinforcements if we could keep Signora busy for but a couple of minutes especially if I summoned a massive Ruin Grader to shoot lasers around the church's grounds as we fought.
As I was thinking of the future I grunted as a shorter figure rammed into my side making my aura flare and rather than possibly break the bones of whoever rammed into me, I took the blow and skidded across the stone path of Mondstadt with the figure that was around Lumines height in other words being rather short coming up to the middle of my chest buried into said chest as I stopped them from face planting into the stone ground.
Before I could recognize what was going on I heard a frankly cultured male voice speaking into my ear as a small weight settled onto my shoulder. "Oh, dear My Fraulein, you have smashed into this poor pedestrian but it's a lucky fortune that he is so light on his feet, that neither of you was harmed nor even a lick of dust to taint your august bodies."
I slowly looked to my shoulder with the weight upon it and upon it was a large raven with tiny sparks traveling between its wings. and then I was slightly pushed back as the figure I recognized as Fischl otherwise known as Amy jumped backward and pressed her hand to her body glove-clad chest as she spoke in her... Very unique chuuni speech.
"Hoh fair warrior I Fischl, Prinzessin der Verurteilung formally apologizes, and I will..." She paused and then stared at me with her hand falling and I saw her face pinked for a moment before she blinked in surprise and spoke. "Oh, most interesting I can see you are also a foreigner to this world just as I am hoho!" She laughed while making an almost Ojou-Sama gesture as she folded her hand in front of her mouth.
"Fischl means to say hello." Her raven spoke up as he flew from my shoulder and began to hover beside her master.
"Oz! He is a foreigner of this world and a knower of grand forbidden secrets. He knew exactly what I was saying!" Fischl cried almost stomping her feet in frustration at Oz ruining her introduction.
Just to have some fun as I certainly had hours to burn, I nodded to Fischl. "Indeed, I Jake Schnee inheritor of the sacred Snowflake of the Isekai race greets the Prinzessin der Verurteilung the rightful heir to the once great kingdom The Immernachtreich and bearer of the all-knowing left eye, the Auge der Verurteilung, which sees the threads of fate for all mortals."
I then gently took Fischl's hand and bent over to kiss her knuckle and spoke again softly. "Tis an honor to meet another upright royal in this humble land, especially one that matches my plight to being from another world. To be stranded upon this cruel land of absent gods and a heaven that blights the sky with impunity showing its fangs to all who arrive and attempt to leave this world and to have someone to console with brings me the greatest of joys."
I then took a step back as Fischl's face froze for a moment and then her expression morphed into what I could only call to be the primordial example of a yandere as her eye patch-covered eye began to glow with Electro energies as I spoke one final sentence, seeing her frankly... Scary expression told me that Genshin did have girls that ran off of tropes and Yandere is one of those tropes.
"Despite our abrupt meeting, I must bid you good day my fellow purveyor of fate as I must go to the Guild of Trials to save the lost lambs of the nation that is beset by chaos." I then matched her almost royal greeting by snapping my heels to attention with my heart to my chest and bowed to her before pivoting on a foot and walking away from the stunned form of Oz and Fischl.
Just as I was about to exit the alley, we collided with I almost tripped as Fischl's faint blankly spoken words reached me. "I am going to marry that man..." Even as I turned the corner of the alley and began powerwalking from the crazy, I could hear the soft thumping noise as Oz managed to slap his face with his wings in midflight and groan at his master's insanity.
