Katherine stood up from her seat when she heard the announcement of her husband entering the room.
Her husband, the man she had loved most in the past. He had black hair, and still looked to be in his mid twenties. But His deep blue eyes were filled with indifference. They were cold just like him. He has an aura of power and pride emanating from his mere presence.
The man in front of her was stunning, charming and regal. The fear and charms created a deep attraction towards him. His soft voice and those mesmerising eyes were the death of many.
In the past, in spite of being sold, she had tried to gain his affection, forgetting the place she belonged to, until he showed her her harsh reality.
But why was he here now? Though she stood up to show her respect, there was not an ounce of happiness in her eyes. It was filled with displeasure if any.
He used to be the man she loved the most but now he was just the emperor she served as an empress. There was no love or affection left in her heart.
She noticed how all the maids and servants bowed in front of him. The level of loyalty could be seen clearly and so as their behavior towards her and him.
"You can sit, we have a long conversation to hold." he waved his hands and pointed at the chair where she was sitting before.
She found herself clenching her fist with annoyance yet she nodded and sat back in her chair while her eyes were looking at his every action vigilantly like a small animal keeping a keen eye on her surroundings.
He had never visited her in the past, so why was he there now? He slowly made his way to the table, and took the seat in front of her.
The maids scurried over with a new cup of tea.
She wanted to laugh and scorn at the same time at the way he was treated. He was an uninvited guest yet he was gaining more attention than the hostess.
She wanted to ask him the reason and then send him out and then glare at her staff but she controlled herself, knowing well enough that they were doing their duty.
"You know why I am here! So, we should not talk in circles." he started with a tone of authority when she raised her brows.
"I apologise, but if i would have known what need do you have, i would have fulfilled already so that you do not need to come here." and she did not need to see your face,' she added in her heart as she looked at the desserts.
The desserts needed to be eaten hot. Now, Lennox would miss the good stuff, everyone had worked hard for.
She gritted her teeth as she continued drinking her tea. He was a piece of trash, but god has made every effort in making him a sexy piece of trash.
Even now if she continued to stare at him, she was sure that she would lose her sanity once again. And with the gaze, he was looking at her! It was so intense that she wondered what could be the reason for it.
Like he would swallow her the moment she looked at him. In many ways, Chris was perfect. He was a handsome man, and a good ruler. He was praised for both his wisdom and martial prowess.
But his heart was an empty desert, and the blood that ran through his veins was as cold as ice. He would not even flinch if she stabbed him with a dagger and he would die.
She remembered how cold his body looked that day. But there was not an ounce of pain she had felt for her.
He had brought that for himself. Then why should she drown in sorrow.
She has left the hope of being his true wife once he abandoned me after our first night. And when she became a mother, she gave up on him completely and concentrated on accumulating her power so that she and her son could survive.
But he could not even bear this much peace. After all, he had wasten a fortune buying her. Now that she was proven worthless, he did not like her mere presence. That was when that scumbag told him that he wanted her and he did not feel objected.
He would not care when a prince of another empire would ask for his wife. That was when she started to hate him truly. she wanted to pierce his chest and get rid of the only shackle of her life. But that time was far away.
At this time, she was completely obedient to him like a puppy. If he asked her to sit, how would she dare to continue standing?
She came out of her reverie when she felt a metallic smell, filling her nose. She looked down at her hands. She was so immersed in the past again that she didn't even realize that she had broken the cup in my hands.
Its pieces have pierced her fingers and palm. But she didn't feel any pain. she was numb, her heart, her emotions, everything was numb just because of the man sitting in front of her.
In true sense, he was the villain of her life. He was the one who forced her to be a villainess. An arrogant emperor who treated everything as an object and could not spare any emotion.
"You seem to be displeased by my presence." he asked in a blank voice but she could feel the look into his eyes.
"You misunderstood, your majesty." 'For that i have to spare my emotions for you. But I have nothing to give you, not even my hatred. You mean nothing to me."
