Kath stared at the man with confusion as if she was seeing him for the first time. Had she not told him that they were separating and he had accepted it. Why was he following her then, an action he had never done in the past many years.
Even the maids had the same question in their mind and stared at both of them with confusion.
The news that Chris had returned from the red palace and was in the room of her majesty baffled them. Did he not come from the arms of another woman.
"You did not need to look so serious! I was joking." he said with a chuckle but she kept staring at him.
Is she supposed to laugh over it? "Haha!"
The laughter was hollow and dry when he felt the heaviness. How was he supposed to continue the conversation now!
He felt embarrassed soon and stood up from the seat.
"Then, I should go and see how much work is piled up!" he muttered as he stood up when she nodded eagerly.
