An old man with a thick beard and short algae-like hair floating above his head was aboard the Compass, untangling a fishing net. He was obviously part of the coastal population who made their living from fishing.

Melite bent down to watch the sea touching the stone, the waters constantly stirred by marine activity made it murky, but she could still discern large shadows a few meters below the surface.

Beneath the boat was a disproportionately large beast, waiting wisely to be told to move.

Aleks didn't have time to call out to the old man, the latter was already waving to them in the distance.
