Chapter 88 - Morning dew

Arthur awoke as if from a prolonged apnoea. The absence of windows prevented him from guessing whether the sun was already up or not. The days were getting shorter as winter approached.

He ached all over, but it was a good pain, something he identified as muscular sourness, even though he'd had very little experience of it in his life. He felt heavy but he justified it with the peculiar confined space he slept in.

Apart from the few scratches he'd made the day before around his mageroot, he wasn't truly hurt. He dressed before drawing a door on the walls of his tomb. He observed for a moment the runes he'd created, a muffler simulacrum, and saw that they greatly attenuated the noise of his movements in his makeshift cabin. Given that he hadn't been interrupted all night, he deduced that they had been effective. 

Twenty meters away behind Seisyll and Aleks' laboratory, there was another house made of earth. It was his group's official dormitory.
