Arthur watched the liquid swirl in his glass as he spoke, his tone even but carrying the weight of a request. Across from him, the seafolk hesitated, fingers resting lightly against his own drink. The pause stretched, a silent deliberation, before he finally answered.

Arthur wanted access to the training grounds, not for ordinary practice but for experimental spells. He was well aware of the risks, so he made his offer clear—if the arena suffered damage, he would personally see to its reconstruction. He added, almost as an afterthought, that while neither he nor his friend had the sheer mana reserves of Mage Kael, their magic was just as unconventional in its own way.

The seafolk tapped a clawed finger against his glass. "One condition." He said. "I want to be the only public."

Arthur's cyan eyes flicked toward the clerk before repeating. "Only?"

A nod.
