As they moved deeper into the sanctuary, Arthur observed the space with quiet focus. The rainfolks had transformed the hidden refuge into a thriving community. Runes glowed faintly along the walls, providing light. Simple tools and structures made from coral and salvaged materials filled the area. The air carried the scent of seawater and something ancient, as if the sanctuary itself was steeped in history.
In total there were over a hundred rainfolks working in the sanctuary.
One of the rainfolks, a woman with webbed hands, spoke up as they walked. "The knowledge we took wasn't for greed or power. We've been preserving it, copying it, and sharing it with those who need it most. The libraries above serve only the elite. Here, it serves everyone."
Then with a lower tones and a tired smile, she added. "Just as taught."
