Chapter 156 - The lone island

Fifth Day Overseas.

The Compass moved steadily toward an island, the crew crowded onto the deck, drawn by the sight of land after days surrounded by endless waves.

Even from a distance, the island loomed large, a wild expanse of green that seemed to stretch forever. Its dense jungle appeared untouched, ancient and unyielding, its secrets hidden beneath a canopy so thick it seemed to absorb the sunlight.

As the ship drew closer, the sheer scale of the place became apparent.

The island was vast, its hills rolling gently in the distance, too small to be mountains but large enough to dominate the horizon. A natural stream glittered in the sunlight, weaving through the jungle like a silver vein, and near its center lay a vast lake, its surface shimmering as though made of glass.
