Chapter 1 - A night before

"come in" I said when I heard a knock on my door. A familiar scent then came in, it was my mother.

"Hey" She said and sat beside me in my bed, I was busy doing my homework but I shut my laptop close and silence embraced us.

"I'm sorry if things is not good between me and your dad. We are trying yo fix it for you, dear." breaking the silence in a low voice she said just enough for me to hear in this quiet room.

" Do you even love dad, mom?" I asked her. I never felt they loved each other genuinely, I never saw them being sweet with each other, I can't even remember the last time the three of us bonded. 17 years of existence, I never heard them say I love you to each other.

"I do love your dad, Miya" she answered but from the tone of her voice, there is a but in it.

" Do you believe in first love never dies, Miya?" She asked then lay down on my bed facing the ceiling. I curled up my feet bringing my knees to my chest and answered her, " No. I've never been in love, yet."

" You will be soon. Then you'll understand better" she said. " Do you want to hear a story?" she said again and looked at me. She used to tell me stories when I was a child. I nod as my response to her.

" Can you still remember the story of warrior Lia and prince Francis?" my mother asked, and I nodded.

The warrior who fell in love with a prince who then married the best friend of warrior Lia. It was indeed a tragic story. A girl who continued to love a man who love someone else until her heart died. She was called a warrior by many for she fought for her love for the prince until the end. Even my aunt told me that story.

" Would you believe me that I was warrior Lia?" a hint of sadness can be heard from her voice. I can feel my mom's sadness every time she tells me that story. I thought she was sad because of warrior Lia, I never thought that it was her story.

" Though I made it a story of a warrior and a prince, It was a story of a group of high school students. It was never a fairytale, I made it like a fairytale when really it's not."

She then started to tell me the story, I did not noticed that I was already laying in my bed beside my mom. As she goes deeper I started to close my eyes, not noticing I was already falling asleep.
