He stayed quiet and waited for what she wanted to say. He wanted to cheer her up by saying to her 'do your best'. But nevermind, she was about to speak now.
"T-Thank you on that day…" she said.
Since that day, she never missed saying thank you to him every schooldays. He wondered when she would stop saying that. It wasn't even a big deal. He just helped her a little that time.
"Calliope, right?" Ranz asked. It was the name of the girl in front of her.

"Y-yes," Calliope smiled and nodded. She was happy that Ranz had not forgotten her name.
"Thank you very much for what you said before," Ranz suddenly said to her.
She looked at him in surprise. "Eh?" she tilted her head and wondered what he meant.
After Ranz admitted the fault that should have been her friend's fault in an accident on the first day of class, they had little chance to talk.
