"Here you go sir" Cheng said handing her T fare to the taxi driver who dropped her off few walks away from the office. The taxi zooms off. Cheng crouchs her purse for her Id card which she never remembers to wear. She suddenly bumps into a tall man.
Cheng squeal in pain on the ground.
" Oh no miss, I'm really sorry" the man said packing up some items which fell out from her bag. Cheng stared vigorously at the handsome man. She immediately squats up to help him out putting in the items into her bag.
" Its okay sir" Cheng said smilingly
They both stood up and stared at each other for sometime, the man kept staring at cheng if he knew her from somewhere.
Cheng couldnt understand why he stared at her like that." Do I have something on my face?" Asked Cheng shyly touching her face
The man jerks at her question." No, I jus..." The man phone rings loudly in his pants pocket he brings it out to answer the call.
" I'll be there right away" said the man anxiously to the unknown caller as he cuts the call and faced the cute Cheng again.
" I'm sorry again miss,I got to go" said the man as he hurriedly walked again.
Cheng focused on him till he disappeared from her sight, she sighed loudly placing her hands on her heart side. " he's so good looking!" Cheng muttered excitedly. She glances at her wristwatch and saw she was almost late for work. She gasped softly and ran to the company's direction ,she definitely didn't want Zhengzhou taunts today to ruin her happy mood.
Cheng walked into the office, her brows crossed in confusion as she saw the office workers gathered and murmured so much, their direction faced Zhengzhou's office upstairs. Suddenly everyone heard yelling and crashing of stuffs up boss Zhengzhou's office and shivered with fear.
Cheng walked briskly behind the workers, it felt crowdy
" what's going on" Cheng asked a female worker worriedly. The lady didn't give her attention but responded to Cheng's question anyways.
" Sir Zhengzhou came in happily this morning, then we all suddenly heard him yelling up there. We don't know the reason yet"
Cheng was about running upstairs to his office when the lady quickly held her hands.
" you can't go up there"
Cheng shrugged " why?? . I'm his P.A and I've every right to know why our boss is acting up."
"You really don't want to go up there. When sir Zhengzhou gets angry like this, no one dares to meddle" the lady explained
Cheng kept a confused look upstairs, Cheng wondered what could be going on with him this time around. Was it the Liu Hang issue again?
She kept thinking until everyone started running back to their desks. Cheng looked confusedly at them all as they scattered about rushing like they saw a ghost upstairs or something. She still stood there watching them all settle.
" Who amongst you is Cheng?" Asked a broad voice up the stairs. Cheng immediately turned back to look at the masculine voice that spoke. Her eyes suddenly caught the man she had met earlier. Different thoughts went through her mind.
The fine man stared down at the little Cheng from up there with a little grin by his cheeks.
" You again?"
" Yes me, I'm Cheng you are looking for" she spoke boldly still staring at the man. Everyone glared at them like they had known each other before. Cheng couldn't know sir kavin, their boss's best friend. Wasn't she just newbie here?
" Focus on your work everyone, if you are worried about your boss. He is fine" kavin assured them.
Everyone nods positively and they all went back to their separate duties. Cheng was surprised how another person could order them like this, she was yet to know who this man was. He had so much power and authority like Zhengzhou, But their characters were too different. He was sure much pleasant and friendly unlike Zhengzhou.
Cheng thoughts ends there as she faced back up to the man again.
" Cheng! Come up here" Sir kavin spoke rather calmly but Cheng felt so anxious down there.
Cheng and kavin stands at the door of Zhengzhou's office. Kavin stops Cheng from entering as he gently places his hands on her shoulder.
" Whatever happens Cheng, don't upset him, please" kavin said begged sincerely. Cheng couldn't understand what he meant.
Kavin saw Cheng's facial expression as someone whose brain where clouded with questions.
" No need to be anxious, I know u got a lot running through your mind. I'll clear it all up when this is over"
Cheng felt more confused, what was happening. " Go in now, Zhengzhou wants to see you" kavin taps her shoulder and gave a little assuring smile.
Cheng turned to the door as she reaches for the knob, she reluctantly walked in with a little confident in her steps. His office was a little messy, broken vases and crumpled papers on the tied floor. Her attention slowly moved to where Zhengzhou sat.
Zhengzhou's seat backed her like the first time she came to apply for a job. Wasn't this another heck of trouble for her again, she thought deeply in fear.
Everywhere seemed too quiet since she entered, the only sound she heard were flipping of papers from Zhengzhou's angle. She felt she should say something. Zhengzhou threw over a squeezed paper to her she curiously bends to pick it. Opening it she couldn't read clearly what was written in the crumpled piece of paper. All she could get out of it was a marriage ceremony but couldn't see the people getting married soon.
Zhengzhou suddenly roll his seat towards Cheng who stood straight with her eyes to the ground.
" When where u going to tell me?" Zhengzhou asked softly, his tone though calm seemed really threatening to Cheng.
" What are you talking about?" Cheng raises her eyes towards him and asked rather confusedly
" you again with the pretence act, huh?"
" Liu hang is back and getting married, you wouldn't have told me, would you?"
Cheng gasped in excitement, her best friend was finally back and more she was getting married. That was what was written on the paper the whole time. She tries to straighten it as she dimly stares at the paper to find Liu hang's name.
Zhengzhou hated the smile on Cheng's face, it made him burn up in anger the more.
" You are happy ain't you?"
Cheng face turned sour as she stared at Zhengzhou's bitter eyes. Definitely he was hurt by Liu hang's marriage. " I never knew Liu hang was back or more getting married. Its been a while she contac..." Cheng was cut off by Zhengzhou.
" I guess you are happy she didn't end up with me"
Cheng couldn't say a word,she suddenly felt pity for him. He was badly broken by the news. Zhengzhou walked up to her slowly, acting all lunatic. Only heaven knew what bad plans or thoughts were running through his mind at that moment.
Cheng thoughts rushed back to Liu hang, was she save by coming back to this place? Her memories with Zhengzhou were still here and worse Zhengzhou hasn't given up on her. His obsession with her might endanger her life.
" Please spare Liu hang "Cheng immediately knelt begging in front of him.
Zhengzhou laughed at her act " Spare her from what"
Cheng still knelt looking down at his shoes.
" You think I could ever hurt Liu hang" he said jerking in laughter again.
" What do you think of me, huh. A murderer? "
Cheng thought it through again. She knew how much Zhengzhou loved Liu. But what about the person she was about to get married to, Zhengzhou could easily hurt him.
" Then spare her loved ones. I'm sure you will go after the one she is to get married to. Because you still love Liu hang and you want her back,right?"
Zhengzhou stared silently at Cheng's eyes.
" Well yes, I could do that. I could easily take out the new man she loves. But no, I won't do that. I'm not so heartless to see Liu hang hurt, I love her that much." Zhengzhou said looking into space.
Cheng was really shocked at his words. Yes, he was so cold to her but his love for Liu hang was really pure. Zhengzhou's real self wasn't so clear to her but all she knew was he had a heart to love so much.
" But... If you really don't want me to do anything drastic to her new love. Then its all up to you."
Cheng stood up steadily " What do you mean?"
" You are going to marry me to accomplish my plans" Zhengzhou requested authoritatively.
" leave it or take it" said Zhengzhou with a dervish smile.
