"Is that all you wanted?" I asked Diva. She had stopped attempting to seduce me, and we were casually facing each other now.
She was resting her back on a pile of pillows she had stacked behind her while I stood, leaning against the bedpost.
"More than anything in the world? Maybe. I mean, if it happened to you, wouldn't you want to restore everything back? See the people you love again?"
I pursed my lips.
She was hitting home without even knowing it. But I had to maintain the stoic expression and pretend I wasn't suffering inside.
"Maybe," I replied, taking a deep breath. "So let's say I get to find a way to get what you wanted, have an audience with Russo, will you set me free?"
Diva pressed her lips and concentrated on formulating a response. I could feel and hear her hesitation even from here.
"I have a better proposition," she smirked. "Why don't you take me along?"
