The trials were becoming more challenging than the last. When I opened my eyes and found Elise's face hovering over mine, my insides felt numb.
I watched her lips moving but couldn't hear a single word she had said.
It was only after she tried shaking me to wake up that I was able to slowly recover my hearing.
"Are you alright?"
Her question made me smirk. I felt hollow, barely human, and barely breathing. Hence, I don't even know how to reply to her.
Am I alright?
Honestly? No.
Ever since the first trial, I had never been alright. This labyrinth was supposed to break my soul to pieces, eh?
Sure. Bring it on.
I clicked my tongue, pulling myself back n my feet. Elise looked surprised but didn't say anything. She stood before me, checking for any visible injury.
