I had imagined bone cracking and maybe a possible death for me when it seemed hopeless for anyone to come to our aid as we fell from the sky.
The bird fell first, echoing a loud thud far below. And then I closed my eyes and braced for impact.
However, instead of the imagery in my head, something soft came in contact with my body, halting the harmful effects of the fall.
When I opened my eyes, I found myself gazing at Winter's soft irises that glowed with her entire being.

She smiled at me before lifting off, disappearing in the clouds, and returning later with a bound Riley. His hands were tied with golden chords, and he didn't look too happy.
The bird I had taken down earlier was right in front of us, unconscious.
