As the night progressed, I just realized it was probably the first time things were too quiet.
I lay in bed, unable to close my eyes and even force myself to sleep.
There were more questions than answers, and to be honest, I'm getting used to this. Like, I no longer feel so desperate to find answers when they weren't available upon learning new things.
Staring at the ceiling seemed to hurt my eyes. Hence, I got up and decided to get some fresh air.
Not that I was going to step out. Fifi would scold me and scald me alive if another monster appeared.
"Damn these monsters."
A light knock sounded on the door. I hesitated for a minute before getting up on my feet and opening it.
Fifi pursed her lips and strode inside before I could even invite her.
"Tell me, Fifi, do you even sleep?"
"Would that help you in any way if I give you a response?"
"Maybe," I muttered, closing the door and leaving it unbolted.
