"Hello?" I tried calling out, but the place was empty. The beds were all made, and the last room on the ground floor looked too tempting just to leave behind.
I turned to Fifi, scratching the back of my head.
"Can we rest for a bit?" I pointed at Crystal, using her as an excuse. "The child looked like she's about to faint."
That wasn't a lie, though. Crystal looked pale and forlorn. We had not eaten anything, and my throat was already dry.
Despite not being fully human, I still need constant sustenance.
Fifi blew out a sigh. She looked irritated and was ready to argue, but instead of doing either, she folded her over her chest.
"Fine," she mumbled."
I smiled, turning to the rest.
"You guys stay here. I'm going to look for food. While waiting, you can also shower and nap."
With a mock salute, I walked out of the room, leaving the door ajar.
