"Just another day in the life of Exo," I mumbled, dusting my clothes after the forcefield disappeared.
With the monster gone, I was back to staring at the abandoned-looking building.
Winter didn't say anything, and neither did Fifi. Had Toko come along, he would have said something and broken the silence.
Not that I was complaining, but a little noise could ease the tension in my head. I was wondering what Winter had seen and what she thought about me.
It was mundane to have such absurd thoughts, but this was Winter. I haven't been in contact with her since we parted ways when she moved to Harrith.
I wanted to think that this set-up was intentional. But there was a chance that it wasn't.
They wouldn't play with Winter's life just as they had with mine. Or would they?
Unless she was dead, maybe.
But she can't be dead.
That thought was bothersome.
