Droplets of water echoed in my hearing the moment I came to. My head was pounding, and my vision was groggy.
Had I eaten anything earlier, I might have vomited my guts by now.
Still, despite the lack of sustenance, I felt like puking. The world around me seems to be upside down.
It took me a moment to analyze the situation and where we were.
Blinking rapidly to ensure that I wasn't hallucinating, embers could be seen crackling below me. A small fire provided light in the vast cave where I was hanging. My feet were tied securely by thick vines.
The droplets came from the side, and a pool of water gathered on the muddy floor surrounding it.
Scanning my surroundings, I saw several others hanging around. Each had a small fire directly below, either to protect us from the cold or slowly burn us alive.
To my left, I identified Toko. His gigantic frame quickly gave it away. Beside him, Sab and Ysabel were dangling, unconscious.
