Chapter 64 - Falling

They say that no man is an island. 

However, with my pounding head and discomfort, I couldn't stop wishing I had ventured on this journey alone. Fifi was part of my system; hence she doesn't really count.

Tasting the dust in my mouth, my vision had finally adjusted to the dark. I tried to lift my hands, hearing the chains rattle before sensing the cold iron wrapped around my wrists.

"Great," I mumbled. 

What was the use of having a system when things like this were still inevitable?

Snapping to alertness, I jerked my head to each side, searching for Winter, Ysabel, Fifi, and Sab. They tied Toko across from me, but the women were missing. 

Using my foot, I extended my leg to poke Toko. His foot was bigger than mine. It was like hitting a wall when I tried to wake him. 

Apparently, we were inside a prison. 

Despite the dim surroundings, I could attest that the walls were painted white.
