I opened my eyes, my vision slowly coming back to me. Fifi's face hovered above, along with the bright clear sky.
My head pounded like a ton of cement bricks had fallen over and knocked me out cold.
Fighting the panic, I closed my eyes and reopened them. Fifi slapped my face.
I was up in seconds, rubbing my cheeks.
"What did you do that for?!"
Fifi harumphed, getting back on her feet. She folded her arms over her chest.
I looked around, my eyes widening in surprise. I searched for Riley or Rex, but they were nowhere in sight.
'Was I hallucinating?'
[No]
Fifi replied. But she was glaring at me again.
I don't even understand what that meant. Fifi expected me to read between the signs. But I felt too dumb at the moment.
Recalling Riley's glowing golden eyes made me shiver. He didn't seem like the same person when I looked into his eyes.
It was as if he was possessed.
