"Purrr?"
The cat-like beast tilted its head to one side. It looked at me with curiosity.
I lowered the sword and cleared my throat, suddenly not knowing how to proceed. I thought if I threatened it, the beast would drop its facade.
But I was wrong.
Instead of defending itself, the creature kept its harmless form and stared at me like I had gone mad.
I probably did.
[What do you think you're doing?]
Fifi scolded as I had expected.
"I feel bad killing it when it's so vulnerable."
[Tch]
I know Fifi was going to argue, but so will I. I don't feel comfortable taking advantage of the defenseless creature.
I understand that it was a monster and all. But it just felt awfully wrong to end its life when it didn't even understand what was happening.
I would surely be haunted and scarred forever.
[Do something then]
I backed away, circling the monster.
