I had lost count of how many times Fifi had surprised me.
But I'm guessing this won't be the last.
Fully geared up, the serpent monster had stopped its incessant hissing. A monotonous growl and heavy breathing replaced it.
White smoke came out of the monster's nose, like a bull preparing to charge.
Sharp metal spikes covered its shoulders down to its front. Any direct attack on its chest would be impossible without being pierced to death first.
Or, if not death, the damage caused by the deep wound was enough to impale its opponent.
As it happened, I would be the unlucky individual if I stupidly did that.
Copying his intake of breath and release, I tried to appear intimidating.
I don't think I would even stand a chance based on body size. But Fifi's voice rang in my head.
'All you need is me.'
I didn't even know what she meant by that. Yet I trust her.
