"No," Fifi answered before I could even get the question out. I scratch the back of my head.
"Look," I blew out a sigh. "It wasn't my suggestion and I'm really hoping you'd say no. However," I cleared my throat.
"However?" Fifi prompted.
I took a deep breath this time.
"How can I tell her no? I don't want to break her heart."
"You're worried about that?" Fifi scoffed. "You should worry more about the time ticking. Every minute that passed, the more that we're putting everyone in this universe in grave danger."
"She'll be a mere spectator, Fifi. You see what happens every time there's a monster. They stand aside and leave the fighting to us."
"That's because the monsters are after you. Their focus is not on the humans, but on you. Imagine if the attention shifted. Do you think she'll survive? She won't last a single second."
I saw her point. It was valid.
Irrefutable.
