A loud shriek came from inside. Toko stepped back and run back to us. I was at the front, while Fifi and Arrow flanked beside me.
Bane kept a respectable distance, but with her needing the baby dragon, I knew she would do everything to keep any monster at bay.
Ysabel, Toko, and Sab stayed close to us. Straying farther away might put them in danger. And they were wise enough not to add to the things we need to worry about.
The door stayed open, and before anything could appear out of it, I felt the powerful presence. I'm sure Fifi and Arrow did, too.
Keeping my senses alert for any sudden attack, I glanced at Elise. She was staring at me with curiosity, sucking her right thumb.
