"Dragons?" Sab asked, looking around us. The table was set, and there was food and drinks as Fifi promised, but instead of celebrating, we were huddled in the corner where we had set up the sleeping bags.
Bane was still unconscious, but Fifi had already tended to her wound. It was a deep cut from a very sharp claw.
If she had been unlucky, that wound would have killed her. I don't know what kind of game she was playing, nor did I have any clue why she stole an egg.
"Hey, didn't that Booya kid's dad find the same egg, and you know how they associated their misfortune with it?" Fifi asked.
I pursed my lips.
Only Toko had the appetite to eat. The surprise he prepared for me was a bottle of the drink that Riley had stolen.
Perhaps the bartender made it for my return. Sadly, we no longer had a chance to meet.
"I remember," Sab stated. "And then…"
They all turned to me.
