The capital city was even better than the small town they were just at...
There were buildings made of steel and glass which were much taller than the jungle's tallest trees.
Cars which were able to levitate a foot over the road, cars themselves were new to Elu.
There were colourful screens appearing before people's faces which they clicked and talked to, robots which cleaned the street, floating traffic lights attached to nothing and so much more.
Elu was looking all around as Luna clicked the hotel room key card.
A hotel room key card is a rectangular plastic a third the size of your palm. It has a clear sphere at its top which when clicked, displays a hologram of a map to the hotel with a radius of two kilometres.
It also acted as the key to the hotel room and the sphere also acted as a super powerful compressed power source. Which wirelessly gave power to whichever appliance in the room the owner demands to turn on.
Luna realized Elu was excited and stopped moving. She gave Elu some money and said,"Go, explore the city and buy what you want then meet me in that alley."
"But who will watch over you, your Highness?"
"I can take care of myself, now go."
Elu hid her excitement as she went to see everything.
Luna waited in the alley for several minutes then got bored of waiting, she was about to look for Elu when she heard footsteps.
She looked in their direction to see a dirty man, holding a wine bottle in his hand, he said something that made Luna roll her eyes, he said,"Hey there Barbie doll."
Luna turned to leave but there were three in front of her...
Elu came to the alley with dozens of souvenirs around her then she gasped and dropped them and said,"Y- your Highness, what happened?!"
"They tried to hurt me...they deserved it.", Luna said simply.
Luna continued walking and Elu apologized to all the injured men around the alleyway.
The hotel room was amazing. There was glitter levitating in the air, an awesome bed, a pool-like bath and a fan which could change the temperature of the air around it.
Elu was exploring the clear walled rooms while Luna was changing angles to see which one had the best view of the palace.
Elu had never felt a bed so comfortable, within minutes, she was asleep. When she woke up...Luna was gone!
Luna was in a park, researching on her microphone.
A microphone was a microscopic hologram projector which fit on a person's hair, it interpreted a person's brain waves and made a phone screen in front of the person's face when they wanted it on and worked like old fashioned touchscreen phones from there.
She typed, getting into the palace and got a job application and…
Perfect...
"How didn't I think of it! I could apply for the empress competition, if I win I will have the Prince in no time."
The empress competition was a competition to find the most suitable bride for the prince, every prince of Saggeza. The most beautiful women in the empire compete through difficult tasks for the finest to marry the prince.
Luna pushed her hair back and took a picture. The first task was to be at least twice as beautiful as average. She easily passed that. The next was to have an IQ of 109 or more, she passed that easily. She was in after a QA session.
She went home after that and met Elu crying, she wanted to help then Elu wontly apologized.
"Why were you crying?"
"I'm so sorry your Highness, I was a fool and I failed my duties and I..."
"No you aren't and you didn't, now why were you crying?"
"You were gone, I'm so sorry."
"It was my fault, not yours, I went to the park and I won't do it again."
"Yes, please don't."
"I got into the palace."
"You did? But how?"
"The empress competition. I'll begin next week."
"That's… wonderful!"
"I know right! I'm finally going to avenge my mother..."
A week passed in a flash and soon Luna was in a Scarlet car, goodbying Elu.
The palace was grand, it reminded Luna of her home. The front gate was a clear blue wall which was made of hexagonal chips which disappeared when the car got close.
There was a garden on each side of the path to the fountain. It was your ordinary fountain, just imagine it without a water pump and statue and imagine the water doing the designs by itself and changing the designs occasionally, sometimes even drawing images.
The palace was made of marble with iridescent shards on it. There was a diamond chandelier every few meters with colourful spheres of light floating around. Luna used the map to get to the main hall and saw about a hundred other women her age, they were all beautiful, though she surpassed over 90% of them in looks. A mixed race woman walked to a podium then began to speak,"Good afternoon ladies. I can confidently say you are the hundred and ten most eligible women in all Saggeza for the prince. Welcome to the palace. My name is Alexandra Breckenridge. The rules of the contest have already been uploaded to your microphones, so as additional points...any questions?"
A hand was raised.
"What are additional points?"
"They are points given for punctuality, hassling to your ride and other virtues which cannot be given in the contest, they are worth half a point. They are good for getting an advantage over others, any others?"
Luna then noticed a red headed guard looking at her. She rolled her eyes and tried to pay attention to the questions but couldn't, there was something about his gaze, something familiar…
"...to the park."
Wait what?
All the women squealed and rushed to the various exits. She just followed
