Kaizen shouldn't be surprised by Zyra's bold stance.
They really were two peas in a pod both headstrong and stubborn in their own way.
"Alright it's now or never, I'll lead and you follow."
"No argument there," Zyra replied.
Kaizen got out from under the shrub first and helped Zyra to her feet.
He took the lead and Zyra tried to follow behind him as quietly as possible.
She was relieved when they opened the door and it wasn't more stairs but maybe she was a bit too hasty in her respite.
For a head of them lay several more crudely dugout tunnels.
There was a big rock with a large shrubbery growing in front of it.
Kaizen said, "Stay right here for a few minutes and give me a chance to scope out the tunnels."
"Why can't we do it together?" she asked.
"Normally, I would appreciate that but right now you would only slow me down."
Zyra hissed but she stayed put. So much for them working together.
