CASTYR'S POV
I snap awake to see Kilo sweating on the bed. His brows are furrowed in pain, and his mouth is parted in fear.
I immediately begin shaking Kilo trying to wake him. "Kilo! Wake up."
Kilo instinctively reaches out for me. The connection completely opens up as he grabs my arm. Tears fill my eyes as I feel Kilo's torment through the link. This is why he kept it off for so long. He is unresponsive to my physical actions, so I try to reach him through the link.
Kilo's cries break my heart. How has he been shouldering this all by himself? I hold him tighter as tears stain my face.
A moment of silence passes before Kilo responds.
I watch as Kilo stops panting and slowly opens his eyes.
"Castyr?" He whimpers.
"I'm right here." I run my hand on his head in soothing motions. "It's okay. We're safe."
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to connect you like that."
"It's okay. But please don't cut me off again? I want to help."
Kilo nods. "I won't. And you already do so much for me by just being here."
I send more comforting and warm emotions to Kilo and extend my glow so it covers us lightly. Kilo sighs and relaxes in my arms. The angel mumbles something under his breath as he falls back asleep. What did he say? I did not really catch it, but I am glad Kilo is able to relax. I scoot down next to the angel and hold onto his waist. Kilo instinctively takes me in his arms, and we fall asleep together in peace.
KILO'S POV
I watch the star scurry around the bedroom glowing cutely. Small hums drift from the closet as Castyr shifts through his clothes. He emerges a few moments later holding his officer garments. I look at him lovingly, grateful to have him in my life.
"Kilo! You need to go shower," he says cutely as he goes to change. "We're going to be late to the ceremony!"
"I'm on it!" I rush into the bathroom and quickly shower. I put on my new, captain's ceremonial garments and exit the bathroom drying my hair. My jaw drops at the sight in front of me.
Castyr is stunning. The perfectly fitted uniform shows off his beautiful body. His hair is parted and styled. A long, silver earring dangles from his left ear, while an elegant, jewel stud decorates his right ear. He is wearing just a hint of makeup, and let me say, he is just ravishing.
"Wow, you look beautiful."
Castyr blushes and smiles, his glow enhancing his natural beauty. Ripping myself from Castyr's deadly trance, I retreat back into the bathroom and style my dark hair up. Castyr enters after a few moments carrying a paint brush and a shimmering container. A whiff of his scent flows past me as he props himself up on the counter and sits facing me. Wow, he smells great, too.
"Come here," the star spreads his legs.
"Uh...Castyr, we-"
"I know! It'll be okay. Just come here." He grabs my waist and guides me to stand in between his legs. I hold my breath as he pulls me closer until we are touching. "Okay, let's see," the star says as he opens the container and dips the brush into the sparkling, silver hair paint.
Castyr furrows his eyes in concentration as he highlights my black hair with thin, silver lines. "There we go," he smiles in satisfaction before closing the container and rinsing off the brush. "One more thing." The star brings out a pair of small, black loop earrings.
Once Castyr has put in the earrings, I observe my new look in the mirror. He did an amazing job. "I love it. Thanks, Babe," I plant a quick kiss on his lips.
"Of course," Castyr smiles up at me brightly.
"You ready?"
"Mm hmm. Let's go," Castyr nods.
I help him down from the counter, and we exit his residence. We go to the nearest transfer center and teleport to the Division of Defense. Drones film our arrival to the ceremony. Castyr loops his hand around my arm as we walk up to the building and through the doors. We are formally escorted to the table where our teammates are gathered.
"Castyr! Kilo! It's good to see you!" Soon-to-be Captain Destil greets us as we take our seats.
The team exchanges our 'hello' and 'good to see you' before the start of the ceremony. Colonel Ilios soon arrives and takes his seat at a table near the center around the raised, circular platform. The ceremony begins with the arrival of the director of the Division of Defense.
