Chapter 30 - I've Missed You

KILO'S POV

I hate leaving Castyr alone after I have just found him, but he seemed worried about the battle over the Transport Tower. It does not take long for me reach the roof where I found Castyr. My blood boils as I see the thick, red pool at the edge of the roof.

The doors to the roof open, and a new troop of demons enter. I draw Ymir and advance. I teleport into the pack of demons and swiftly eliminate them in fluid, swinging motions. Bodies topple all around me as I jump through the doors, landing on the floor below with ease.

A team of angels is fighting a horde of demons. I join in the fight, glad to serve my fresh revenge of fifty years. The team and I are able to overcome the seemingly endless supply of demons after a few hours of combat.

"Who- who are you?" A team member asks me as he leans against a wall to catch his breath.

"Lieutenant Kilo, Guardian to Star Castyr," I give him my full title.

"Lieutenant Kilo? Guardian to Star Castyr? I've heard about your story." A younger angel gawks. "...Wait...St- Star Castyr?" His eyes widen. "Lieutenant Castyr, our Castyr, is a star?"

I lift an eyebrow in response. I do not know how to answer. Something like 'you guys didn't know?'

"So you're the one he's been looking for!"

"Thank you for your help," an older angel says courteously.

I nod in response.

"Wait, so where is Castyr? Is he alright? He was supposed to back us up when we reached the transport room. What happened? Is he safe?" The young one asks in a frenzy.

"Destil, I'm sure he's fine. His angel is here." The older angel calms the younger.

I look at the dawning horizon as the young angel stares at me with serious curiosity. I have been away too long. I walk to the open edge of the transport floor and teleport away from the gawking angels.

Castyr is standing near the edge the roof looking at the city when I reach the building where I brought him. His back faces me as I walk up to him.

"Castyr," I say his name after fifty years.

The star turns around and rushes to me, revealing sparkling eyes. I bring him into my arms as he reaches me and hold him closely. I realize how scared of losing me he must have been when he clutches my shirt and buries his head in my neck.

"I told you I'd come back," I pet his head comfortingly. It is in this moment that I realize how much Castyr has grown. He now stands to the tip of my nose instead of my shoulder. His build has gotten bigger, too.

Castyr looks up at me and wraps his hands around my neck. Tingles run down my spine as his thumb strokes the back of my neck. He gently pulls me down and presses his lips to mine. My hand flows down Castyr's back to his waist, pulling him closer and deepening the kiss.

My heart quickens and butterflies fly through my stomach, but I am incredibly at peace in this moment with Castyr in my arms. The star slips his hand into my hair as he breaks away for air.

"I missed you," Castyr says softly, his eyes still closed.

I press my head against his before pulling him in for another kiss. This time, I kiss him more passionately and enjoy the sensation of the star's soft lips. Castyr is glowing by the time I pull away. A slight sense of satisfaction runs through me as I see his glow.

"Don't you be glowing like this for anyone else, okay?" I rest my forehead on his.

Castyr's cheeks grow red as he blushes. "Never. This is only for you," Castyr smiles at me brightly.

I smile and kiss the tip of his nose. Oh, how I have waited for this! I look down at Castyr in my arms. This moment could not be more prefect. The first rays of the morning sun creep into the sky as the battle is won. Castyr and I stand in each other's arms and watch the sun rise, my head resting on Castyr's as he leans into me.

I look down as the sun fully rises. Castyr's eyes droop as he watches the sun. He must be exhausted. I plant a peck on Castyr's head before lifting him in my arms. My star smiles and holds onto my neck before resting his head against my chest and closing his eyes contently.

I spread my wings and fly into the sky with my star in my arms. Castyr directs me to his base as we near the tower. We fly for a few more miles before I spot a very strategically placed base of tents nestled in between several great skyscrapers.

I land at the edge of the camp, not wanting to cause too much commotion right after a big battle. I take Castyr's hand in mine after I set him on his feet. Castyr looks up at me brightly, barely controlling his glow. Hand in hand, we walk through the camp.

A tall, blonde angel paces in front of Castyr's tent as we approach.

"Colonel," Castyr greets the man.
