Chapter 20: Fan Linxu Past(2)
She worriedly tried to look for survivors among her friends when her eyes reined on a certain black-robed man several dozen feet away from little Fan Linxu's home, he wasn't wearing a mask but he had a face that made everyone wish he did, his face was ugly as hell and could make babies cry from just looking at it, countless scars decorated his face and he had the ugliest smile on his face as he slaughtered helpless villagers.
The black-robed man was short but even then he looked like a towering giant killing machine in front of his victims, his eyes shone red like a venomous snake and he held two blades dripping with the blood of God knows how many villagers, and finally, he had a red token pinned to his chest, and two words were inscribed on it: Blood seekers.
The short black-robed man emitted a powerful baleful aura that made little Fan linxu dizzy.
As Fan Linxu was watching him the short black-robed man noticed her family and his eyes lit up like glowing red suns, he snickered loudly before attacking her family like a bloodhound, at that time Fan linxu was overwhelmed with fear seeing the man charging towards them, he looked like a demon from the depths of hell.
At that time she was sure she was going to die but her father suddenly attacked with all his might to protect his family, while her mother grabbed her and ran.
Naturally her dad, a mortal didn't stand a chance against the short blacked robed cultivator, the man immediately made short work of Linxu's father but he didn't kill him quickly instead he tortured him slowly.
Fan Linxu vividly remembered the sound of flesh tearing and blood splattering accompanied by the painful cries of her father as her mom ran away desperately.
It didn't take long for her mom to reach a hidden dry well and without hesitation, she hid little Fan Linxu there with tears in her eyes before covering it with leaves.
Fan Linxu remembered her mom struggling to tell her to live a good life before running in the other direction and bringing her pursuers along.
That was the last time she saw her blood parents!.
Fan linxu stayed inside that well alone in the dark unaware of what the future held for her, all that accompanied her was immense sorrow and hatred for the bastards that annihilated her entire village without provocation.
At that time she was filled with so much anguish, rage, and grievance.
She cried and cried until she didn't even have the energy to spare.
Time trickled by and she grew thinner and hungrier but she didn't care all she wanted to do at that point, several days later the leaves covering the well were moved away and for the first time in days she saw a ray of light shine on her.
And then she saw a woman with peerless looks descend from above like an immortal and land before her.
That woman saved her life and even brought hope to gee already broken soul.
That woman was none than Third Elder Long , her now adopted mother
That same woman was now being chased by the same bastards that destroyed her home
Fan Linxu couldn't help but wonder if her adopted mom was being targeted by the blood seekers because of her, wait doesn't that mean this was all her fault, she had to go save hermom now even if it cost her life and destroy eradicate as many if those vile scums as she could at the same time
The rage she had suppressed all these years began to surge threatening to explode at any time!
Seeing that she remained quiet and the myriad of emotions that appeared on Fan Linxu when he mentioned that name Adriel felt something was not right and asked with a concerned tone: "Linxu are you okay?"
Fan Linxu was brought back to reality, then she quickly suppressed those sad thoughts before replying with a shaky voice: "I'm...fine"
Adriel narrowed his eyes hearing that, he sighed before asking: "Linxu, how long have we known each other? "
Fan Linxu was taken aback by the out-of-the-blue question, at this point she already managed t recover a bit of her indifferent demeanor and answered warmly: "more than a dozen years"
Ariel nodded before solemnly saying "then you should know it's very difficult to hide anything from me, so tell me why did that name trigger you so much"
Fan Linxu shook her head: "it's nothing I was just surprised it's those guys that targeted mother"
She didn't dare tell him about her past afraid he might conclude the situation is graver than he thought and recklessly go out the save Elder Long, therefore, risking his life.
Just like he was worried about her, she was concerned about his well being too.
Deep down in a tiny corner of her heart, she was also worried that he might blame her for the predicament of their mother.
But of course, Adriel would never blame her, he cared too much about her and his mom.
Seeing she wasn't ready to say anything Adriel didn't press any further "sigh if you say so" he paused before gravely saying: "since you now know who those guys her don't do anything stupid, I won't forgive you if I find out you sneaked out to find mom, we are currently too weak to help her and will become a burden instead, so let's just focus on raising our strength as quickly as possible"
"I'm sure she'll be fine but if she doesn't 'return in six months then we'll go check, so promise me you'll remain in the sect till then"
Fan Linxu opened her mouth to argue but seeing the serious expression on Adriel's face she yielded with a nod: "I promise"
Adriel heaved a relieved sigh when he got her promise then he sat down on his bed once more while saying: "you may leave now, try and enlarge your beast master space... And yeah I made a slight breakthrough with my Midas touch talent, so be prepared because I'll be using it on you by sunrise before visiting the sect library"
Hearing this Fan Linxu's mood brightened up a bit, she was looking forward to the Midas touch improvement would it be able to further awaken her physique, if so she could grow stronger quickly and render help to her adopted mother!
Fan Linxu nodded before slowly walking out and returning to her room.
Watching her leave Adriel closed his eyes, he wasn't in the mood to sleep at all instead he began to cultivate.
Gaining strength to save his mom was his priority now!
