Asher's heart raced as he saw the man that called him but before the man could move closer to him, he quickly grabbed Toni and he ran away, far away from the man. Toni was puzzled, she just felt someone grab her, looking up, she realised that it's Asher and they've been running since. Asher stopped running, released Toni from his iron grip, looked around him and he couldn't find the man that called him, he finally breathed in relief that he wasn't followed. Asher turned to Toni, he saw that she was still catching her breath, she barely stood up, she placed her hand on a wall, supporting her weight.
" Are you okay?" Asher asked and he moved closer to Toni.
" I am fine, why did we suddenly start running?" Toni responded.
" I saw someone that knew me and I am not supposed to meet someone that knows me." Asher explained and Toni finally stood straight, looking into Asher's eyes.
" And why's that?" Toni asked.
" That's none of your business." Asher said.
" Is everybody this nosy or is it just you?" Asher asked but Toni didn't respond, she just frowned.
" Should we keep moving now?" Asher asked and Toni nodded. They went into the city market to get what Lauren sent them. Asher enjoyed his experience in the market. He couldn't help but smile throughout the time he spent in the market. After getting what they came into the city market, Asher carried two shopping bags while Lauren just carried one, and they were heading home. Before they could get a public bus to take them home, Toni suddenly stopped them.
" You've been smiling since we started buying things in the market, you look so happy, I should do something." Toni said.
" Yes, it was great and what is it that you want to do?"
" I would like us to take pictures." Toni said but Asher just displayed a puzzled look, taking pictures, what does that mean?
" You don't know what that means?" Toni asked.
" Explain." Asher added.
" You really are strange, well this." Toni said and she searched her bag, bringing out her phone and she showed Asher.
" This is a phone and it has a camera which will take pictures of us." Toni said with a smile.
" Let's try it." Asher said, Toni smiled happily as she took selfie pictures of the both of them before taking a full picture of Asher carrying two bags.
" That was actually fun." Asher said after they took the pictures.
" Yes." Toni replied, enthusiastic and they walked towards a public bus to take them back to Lauren's house, but before they reached the bus, Toni's bag was snatched. A man snatched Toni's bag and he ran away with the bag.
" Help! Help! Help! That's my fucking bag!" Toni shouted as she grabbed Asher's hand, pulling him.
" Asher, chase after him and collect the bag." Toni shouted, Asher quickly dropped the bags he carried and he chased after the thief. The thief was fast as he ran through the city market, cutting corners, alleys but Asher chased after him and he didn't lose sight of him. But unfortunately for the thief, Asher was faster, the thief ran into a desolate street that had few people around, he turned to look at the man chasing, which is Asher. As he turned, Asher already caught up to him and he crashed into the thief, sending the both of them to the ground. The thief groaned as he hit the ground, he quickly rolled away from Asher, shot up and he kicked Asher before he could get up. Asher winced in pain as he was kicked nonstop by the thief in the stomach but that was before he caught the thief's leg and he pulled it, bringing the thief down. Asher stood up, released his leg and he kicked his neck before the thief could stand but the thief stopped the kick midair with his elbow, he caught the leg with his other hand and he threw Asher against the wall behind him. The thief punched Asher's face before he could recover and he followed up with another punch that made Asher's lip bleed, the thief threw another punch but Asher dodged the punch that hit the wall close to his ears. Asher threw his head into the thief's face, headbutting him, the thief staggered backwards and Asher ran towards him, sending a punch to his jaw. The thief fell to the ground, groaning in pain, Asher shot him a look but he didn't continue to hit him, he went towards Toni's bag that was on the floor, he picked the bag up and he walked away. But he just took three steps before he heard the thief run towards him, he turned and he saw the thief approach him with a knife, the thief slashed the knife towards Asher. Asher dodged but he was still a bit late, the knife cut his right cheek, before the thief could retract his hand, Asher grabbed his face with his right hand, lifted the thief off the ground and he slammed him on the ground. The thief coughed blood before passing out, Asher set his eyes on the red blood that the thief threw up and he felt a burning sensation in his stomach. He felt his throat go dry, his stomach burn with a weird sensation that he could describe as hunger. He didn't know why he felt this way, but he quickly left the thief and he walked away with Toni's bag. Asher reached where he left Toni but he couldn't find her there, where did she go now? Asher thought solemnly. Asher was bewildered and he looked around but he couldn't see Toni, that was before he looked to his side and he saw Toni running towards him. Toni enveloped him in a tight hug and he could feel her crying on his chest, why is she crying? Asher inwardly asked himself. Toni released him from the hug, looked at his face and she noticed the wound on Asher's face.
" Here is your bag." Asher said and he handed Toni's bag to her.
" Are you okay?" Toni asked with a soft voice.
" Yes, I am fine." Asher responded with a slight smile on his lips.
" You don't have to act tough, your face is bleeding, your face looks really bruised." Toni said.
" I am not acting tough, I am really fine and you don't have to worry about my wounds, they will heal." Asher said but Toni shook her head vehemently as she grabbed Asher's hand.
" We have to get that treated before going home." Toni insisted and Asher agreed. After plastering his face at a nearby clinic, they boarded a bus that would take them home.
" I didn't get to thank you… thank you Asher." Toni said with a smile.
" You are welcome." Asher responded.
" I am Toni." Toni said out of the blue.
" You didn't get to know my name and I am tired of you calling me hey, so my name is Toni. " Toni said with a big smile.
" Toni… Toni… Toni." Asher repeated her name, with different intonation that cracked Toni up.
" Why are you calling my name like that?" Toni asked.
" Your name is a nice name though." Asher said and he gave her a thumbs up. They didn't say anymore words till they reached Lauren's house. After reaching Lauren's house, Toni knocked the door to the house and Lauren opened the door a few seconds later, she gasped as she saw Asher's face.
" What happened to your face?!" Lauren asked as she rushed towards Asher.
" Nothing… it will heal soon." Asher said.
" I asked you a question, Asher." Lauren said firmly.
" I fought a thief." Asher said.
" Just a thief?" Lauren asked, indicating if he was referring to the people that wanted the past owner of his body dead.
" Yes, just a thief. " Asher responded and he walked into the house, Lauren and Toni walked behind him and Lauren closed the door behind them.
" How did you meet the thief?" Lauren asked and Toni explained what happened to her in detail, while they did this, Asher already went inside his room, to change his clothes. Walking back to the living room, he sat on a couch and he watched Toni recount what happened in the city to Lauren.
" Hey, have this." Lauren said as she handed a new phone to Asher.
" What am I going to do with this?" Asher asked as he took the phone, examining the phone.
" You are going to obviously use it, you don't have a phone right now so I got you one." Lauren said with a smile.
" He didn't know how to use a phone." Toni said with a laugh that Lauren joined while Asher just maintained his stoic face.
" Thank you so much Lauren." Asher said.
" You are welcome… but I am not getting you the phone for free, you have to pay me."
