There are scattered boos when you say this. As you try to decide what next to argue, you believe you catch sight of the courtier locking eyes with someone in the crowd. "Well said, youth!" she crows. "You should all do well to learn that you cannot be demeaned, and you cannot be humiliated further, when you embrace that demeanment and humiliation are the right and natural state of souls in your station."

The boos increase, and someone actually gives you a bit of a shove. "I never said that," you object.

"We've heard enough from you, fair singer; and enough from you there, in the crowd, as well," the courtier says lightly as ever. "Who's next?"
