"You should try to keep the head maid in her place, Your Majesty." Now sitting in the carriage, Blaise stared at her even though he had an entire window to himself for looking out.
"Hmm? It's too much of a bother." Bree replied carelessly, causing the man to narrow his eyes and look at her as if she were trying to hide something.
He clicked his tongue and straightened up in his seat. With his arms crossed in front, he said to Bree, "Lying is a bad habit for a queen like you, Your Majesty."
"Who says I am lying?" Bree questioned back. Though she was, being caught made her cheeks burn.
"You have a little tell; every time you lie, I can catch it." Blaise replied smoothly, causing Bree to narrow her eyes and ask, "What kind of tell?"
"Your majesty, do I look stupid?" Blaise retorted with a roll of his eyes. "Why will I tell you the truth? If I let you know, you will only learn how to lie better. As your mate, I cannot allow that to happen, can I?"
