Chapter 10 - Dorm Allotment

"You have something to report Rishi Brahlan?" The other person asked Brahlan.

"Yes Rishi Prahalad. It is concerning the new batch I brought from Kota," Brahlan said.

Prahalad was peaked with interest. "Did something happen?" He asked.

"Yes Rishi. Two events. Some youngsters from the families created a scene about wanting to take talents away earlier than normal," Brahlan said.

"Don't mind them. The youngsters might get cocky but we have an understanding with the families. We are both on the same side. What is the second thing?" Prahalad asked.

"One of the students I brought is a purple level talent. But he is an odd case," Brahlan said.

"That is very good news. What is the oddity?" Prahalad asked.

"He is of unknown origin. When I tried to scan his body to test his initial potential, I wasn't able to. Moreover this is the same person who was the source of information to Acharya about the rakshasa event in Kota," Brahlan said.

Till now Prahalad didn't show any expression. But after hearing the latter bit of Brahlan's statement Prahalad became serious.

"Describe this person to me. How old is he? How does he look?" Prahalad demanded.

Brahlan was slightly taken aback by Prahalad's change in tone but continued talking.

"He's a kid - only 15. He has brown eyes, wavy hair. 180 cm. Clear face, light coloured skin but not overly white. That's all that comes to mind."

[A/N: I know this sounds very descriptive, but that is for reader's benefit. Brahlan is NOT a pedo paying extra attention to mc]

Prahalad stood up. He stretched his arms and then jabbed his right arm towards seemingly nowhere.

A portal suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Prahalad took out a staff from the portal. He slammed the staff to the ground.

The entire floor shook. The building didn't though. It was like the floor wasn't even connected to the building.

"Am I getting dull Brahlan?" Prahalad asked.

Brahlan shook his head. "Not that I can notice Rishi. You are as strong as ever. Is something the problem," Brahlan asked.

Prahalad walked to the window of the tower and looked outside at the streets. Since he was on the 12th floor everything on the street was exceptionally small.

"I encountered this boy during my trip to Kota as well. In fact, I was the one who saved him from the rakshasa," Prahalad said slowly.

Brahlan was surprised at this new information.

"However," Prahalad continued. "I also wiped the boy's memories of the incident so he wouldn't be left with a trauma. Yet clearly it hasn't worked."

Prahalad was still looking down from his window. In his line of sight, in the street 12 stories down, was Netan roaming around.

After Netan got some food he started asking around for directions to his dorm. Netan was still carrying his luggage with him and it was starting to bother him.

After asking around he finally got to a series of similar looking buildings. Each were numbered 1 to 18. Netan was immediately curious.

From the division of dorms Netan guessed that Dorm 1 was only for purple level talents. But of this dorm was also 7 stories tall like all the other dorms, what was it like inside?

Brahlan said there were only 2 or 3 purple level talents every generation. So was he going to share the entire dorm with 2 other people?

Netan was entering the dorm when a student who looked three years older stopped him.

"What business do you have here?" He asked Netan. Netan looked at the paper in his hand.

"I was assigned to here," Netan said.

The other person snorted. He snatched the paper in Netan's hands. "There's no way that's true. You must have misrea-"

He suddenly stopped talking. He immediately gave the paper back.

"Have a great day," He said quickly and ran off.

Netan looked at him running and sighed. He then looked forward and walked inside.

The ground floor was very simply built. There was a reception table in the center in front of a wall. There were two doors at each corner of the door leading to behind it.

The reception was being manned by a lady in her 30s. He went to her.

"I'm looking for my room," Netan said. He handed his paper to her.

The lady took the papers and scanned through them. She then handed them back.

"Which floor would you prefer?" The receptionist asked. "We have a lot of vacancy to allow for such freedom of choice," She added when she saw Netan's confused face.

"4?" Netan answered doubtfully.

The receptionist nodded. "That one is free. Here is the access card to it."

Netan took a card which had the number 4 plastered on it. Below it was Dorm 1 in purple colour. The card itself was black.

"Which room?" Netan asked.

The receptionist gave a small snicker. Then she clarified it for Netan.

"The entire floor is yours."
