A year after going back. Mary and Armageddon reached the port of thieves.
"I don't like this smell."
The large man said.
"what smell?"
Mary asked. She couldn't smell a thing.
"Witches."
He answered quickly.
"During the previous tournament, they went rogue and killed thousands."
He added. Mary had never heard of that part of the story.
"One witch, a Vulpini, locked the personality of Hector Akui's brother. Hector Akui is a member of the six warriors with the potential of three hundred years. Later, blaming the Vulpini, he started the beastmen massacre."
She was shocked. She had never heard of this before.
The witches were massacred five hundred years ago, and later, they caused the beastmen massacre two hundred and fifty years ago. Mary didn't know if this information would ever help her, but it was certainly interesting.
They went through the narrow city streets. Usually, it would make no sense to build such narrow roads. But the residents of this island are all witches.
In their hands, every ordinary broom will become a flying transportation method. This has made broad streets useless since no one uses them. Hence, they maximized their space usage and built houses very close to each other, with only very narrow paths between some buildings.
They reached a broader road than the others, where there was a big market.
Many people were speaking, and it didn't take much time before Mary understood that Emilia was the talk of the town.
"Have you heard of that half-demoness all the nobles are talking about? What I wouldn't do to spend a night with her."
A crude-looking man said to his friends, and they all laughed.
Mary's face darkened, and Armageddon noticed the sudden change.
He walked toward the men, axe at hand, and asked a simple question.
"Do you know where I can find that half-demoness?"
The men were surprised by the sudden question.
"Last I heard, she is at that bastard's house."
One of the men said. He spit in a particular direction, and looking in that direction, Armageddon saw only one house befitting someone rich.
"Thank you."
He said politely and then proceeded to walk in that direction.
********
They walked for a while until they reached a large mansion built of marble in a Greco-Roman style.
Armageddon kicked down the door, and the guards all rushed at them.
He looked swiftly at the guards, and with that one look, it was clear. These guards should have gone to the toilet first.
They were each paralyzed in fear, with pees traveling down their legs.
"Whoever is the lord of this mansion, come out now!"
Armageddon growled. A bald, fat middle-aged man walked wearing robes, with girls on his sides.
"And who might you be?"
The fat man asked. He smelled terrible and looked even worse. The women by his sides both looked like they were suffering.
"Your aura is so weak. Are you sure you have any magic?"
Armageddon asked, and the man looked at him with disdain.
"You dare question my power? The power of Ruò hòuyì?!"
Armageddon lowered his body to the man's height. And with a smile full of killing intent, he said.
"Bring me the half-demoness girl."
Armageddon's low tone vibrated through the building, and Ruò hòuyì shook in fear.
"B- Bring him, Emilia."
He stuttered, and quickly, a few servants pulled a blonde girl by her harm.
She was barely wearing any clothes, and her hair covered her ears and eyes.
She looked more developed than you would expect for someone her age, but clearly, she was very young. What is wrong with these people?!
Armageddon looked at the girl, then looked at Mary. Mary moved the girl's hair just enough, so she could see her eyes.
She saw eyes as blue as the deep sea and was sure. This is Emilia.
She nodded, and Armageddon's expression softened.
He started walking away from the mansion but stopped as if he had forgotten something.
He quickly turned back, and with a swift slash of his axe, Ruò hòuyì's head was crushed.
He didn't slash him through his head, but the first point where the axe hit was the cheek. His lower and upper jaws were thoroughly separated, with the joint between them crushed.
It looked like Emilia had a small smile.
********
Armageddon waited outside a clothing shop while Mary chose fitting clothes for Emilia.
After having a shower, a proper meal, a haircut, and new clothes, Emilia slept soundly.
"So, what now?"
Armageddon asked.
"I need to use her powers to speak with the demon god."
Mary said.
"What do you need from the demon god?"
Armageddon asked. He seemed annoyed by this. And why wouldn't he? This was the god that supported George Adom.
"In the future, he will make a mistake that can not be undone. This is why I went back. If I fail, the world will be destroyed."
Mary said.
She went to sleep while Armageddon stayed awake to guard the room.
********
In the morning, Emilia woke up and saw two people eating in a cramped room.
Yesterday, these two people either saved or kidnapped her.
"Good morning. How do you like your eggs?"
Armageddon asked.
He was a large man, and even though she made no voice, and without turning his head back, he noticed she woke up.
"Scrumbled."
"Scrumbled it is."
Armageddon said. It took her an extra minute to notice the big red-haired man wore an apron.
At the table, there was already a black-haired girl.
"Good morning."
Mary shot a glance at Emilia.
"Why did you save me?"
Emilia asked.
"We need your help."
Mary answered.
"What can a mere slave like me do?"
Emilia asked, acting as if she knew nothing of her powers.
"I know you can communicate with the gods."
Mary said quickly. Emilia was shocked.
"If you don't help me, in a few years, the world will end."
Mary nonchalantly added.
"How can you say this so calmly?"
Emilia asked.
"After the third time, it becomes normal."
Mary answered quickly.
They ate breakfast and then sat at the table.
"Well, how do we make your powers work?"
Mary asked.
