Ace smiled warmly at Grandma Lucinda as he rolled his wheelchair up to the stairs.
I force myself not to call out for him by biting my lower lips. Ace had promised to accompany me when I'm with Grandma Lucinda, but he's now stabbing me in the back.
Ace is literally rolling his wheelchair away from me, leaving me alone to confront his grandmother. "Why are you fixated on Ace? Do you really consider me to be a bad person?" She asks a question that draws my attention to her.
I would not have realized I had been staring for too long if she had not made her statement. "No… No, I don't think you're a bad person. I'm just surprised Ace didn't hesitate before leaving my side." While stammering, I declare.
Grandma Lucinda scuffed. "I don't believe you, and you don't have to hide your true feelings either. You see me as a bad person, and I'm glad you do because I'm not a good person." Ace's grandmother stated with a strong and confident voice.
