Someone yelled across the lawn, and Darius only asked Cleo to shroud the Mirage Queen's crest in case someone tried to steal it. He got the crest inside him for safekeeping before looking around to find Rowan. That was his voice; Darius was so sure of that.
He twisted his body with difficulty and found Rowan recalling the shadow shroud that he used to shield his sister. Even if he suffered with it, at least his sister was safe. As for Luxe, Darius figured Rowan thought that he could practically handle himself if he dared to be a prince of the Shadow Territory.
At that, Darius got up with the help of Genie who had come with the others. He held onto his belly and felt how the two shards were circulating it for protection. The shards then stopped when the danger had been averted. One shard even flew back from where Nicholai should be.
