"Dad?" Darius was surprised when the Cosmic King dropped the teacup. Because an Omega's serving trolley was at the side—as requested by Darius earlier; he was quick to find a clean cloth to drop on Aldous's lap. He also rummaged the trolley to find anything to store the shards of the broken cup.
As if using the distraction to alleviate the heaviness of the soundless conversation, Nicholai got up from his seat and helped Darius search the other side of the trolley. He didn't miss out on the sound of Enzo's voice toward their father.
While they were away, Enzo patted his father's shoulder. He also got up to take the cloth to dab on their father's knees. "Father, what happened? Was the tea too hot? It doesn't taste bad, either."
