Darius's eyes curved as he snickered, behaving like how he did behind the closed doors of Nicholai's room. "That was, like, the most I got. He was so busy scolding you that he forgot to do anything to me. I guess you protected me from him, still. Hehe, I didn't know you're such a bad child. He kept on complaining at me as if I can make you better."
"…oh." Nicholai only murmured before hanging his head and chuckling in resignation. "That's good to hear. I was worried that he would have taken them away from you…"
"No, he said something close to you knowing what's best for your sister's kids." Darius then reached out to pull on Nicholai's cheek. "You brat… no wonder your dad doesn't want to see you for weeks! What a bad child! Don't be like him, okay?"
"Yes, Daddy!" the four pups answered, causing Nicholai's mood to plummet. Still, Nicholai smiled. At least, they were all safe and well.
