That was why when she was in the arms of that vampire elder and narrating things about the estate, Darius's heart swelled as if she was speaking to his own father.
The way she said 'Grandpa' would make men want to have adult kids, just so they could be grandpas themselves. He just didn't know if Nicholai felt the same.
"…a climbing tower there, but they won't let me climb it because it's theirs." Megan was casually telling things about the playground. "But it's okay! Uncle gave me a bike, so I can play with something else. Lord Grandpa, they said that it's called a bicycle because it has two wheels, but mine has four wheels. Two are big, and two are small. They still call it my bike, too. Is it really a bike?"
