Despite the wound on her face, Audrey still laughed. She made the generals crouch in an attacking stance before she floated a little to emerge from their images. Her bleeding face wore her victorious smile as she looked down at her former mate. "So, you think I will be scared of you, Darius? You can't even turn into a wolf. How are you supposed to fight me?"
She gestured her hands at their surroundings. "Look around you, Darius. Does it look like someone can help you? Not even your faithful siren and specter could help you now. The executioners will never do anything against me. So, who are you hoping to save you?"
"Why don't you get closer to find out?" Darius smiled, but the smile on his lips was seemingly not his—or what they knew who Darius was. It was too placid as if whatever was around him was nothing but slight entertainment. "Come on, Audrey. Show me what you can do."
