Chapter 64 - Stampede

Burkhish's body was that of a woman, beautifully proportioned under her elegant dress, full of fat and flesh, but her head above the neck was completely bony. Just a skull.

And out of that skull, the Lady of Oblivion let out a cursed sigh, like atoms of crystal and flour, which swelled rapidly in the cold air of the nascent dawn, and every drop of it sank into the ear of every soldier who was in the Rosy Army until the mass of the army facing her was completely saturated.

The sigh could not reach the rest of the soldiers far away, but the backlash came quickly.

Every soldier exposed to that frightening crystal flood, suddenly felt a tremor inside his brain, as if an enchanted dwarf had entered his head and violently kicked his brain convolutions.

For a brief moment, the pain was unremitting, and then suddenly the pain went away.

And everything else went with it.

The cursed soldiers with Burkhish's fury had forgotten all about themselves.

They forgot their names, their goals, and even the name of the Ten Trees Castle.

One said in a panic to his colleague:

- who am I? and who are you? Why are we here?

His colleague answered him frightened, throwing down his sword and feeling his beard:

- I don't know, but I want to go home, I want to go to the East. I may live in that warm, nascent sun.

Hence the spark began.

That bearded soldier darted furiously eastward, and his comrade followed him.

Without even realizing it, the entire battalion around them was running after them. When you don't have a goal, you run after the first tip of the string is waved at you.

The soldiers who were not cursed in the north and south of the ramparts were astounded by this tidal wave. All the western battalions of the army were rushing in panic towards them.

The scene was terrible.

Even the wisest man, had he not found a reason to flee before this crowd, he would have run at least in their face to avoid their attack, and to minimize the losses which usually result from the disorderly stampede.

It was not a retreat, but a stampede, confusion, and crowding detonated by panic and turmoil, and the soldiers in the east thought that the barbarians were attacking the pink army, or that the Aynurs, as they called them, had somehow appealed to the mighty forces of the coppery armies, and the Masters' aid arrived for them.

They tried to outrun their brothers and prepared to escape, but Munther shouted at the men:

- Hold on, no withdrawal order has been issued yet. Don't budge an inch, you bastards.

But the terrible rush from the west shook the soldiers, and they began to tumble and move randomly until the flood came upon them.

Thousands of soldiers, a quarter of whom forgot everything, ran over the others in their panic, which spread like a contagion among those who had not forgotten so that the curse of Burkhish fell and the situation worsened.

Emperor (Behruz) came out, waving his sword to injure the fleeing soldiers around him, calling:

- Stop, you fuc*ing traitors! Stop and prove, what's wrong with you?!

He heard Delgis' collapsed voice in his mind:

- "It's Goddess Burkhish, Emperor. I'm sorry."

He turned as if he was addressing an invisible person, and said:

- (Burkhish)?

But with his turn, he did not see the next soldier, who hit his back violently and knocked him to the ground. (Munther) rushed to extend his hand to him and try to bring him back on his feet, and rushed with him to the stables against the direction of the absconders towards the sun, but the torrential torrent dropped them again, and more violently, Munther screamed Including:

- Stop, you're squashing the emperor himself, did you forget him or what the hell?

But he himself was subjected to a fatal stampede and ran over and joined dozens of other dead weak soldiers.

Behrouz's voice resounded, as he pointed from afar to Kandor and said to it:

- No, don't make anyone else sit on my floral throne.

A huge soldier trampled on his face, his jaw broke, and the others stamped on him wildly, his body shattered bone by bone, until his memory disappeared from the history of the peninsula of Cancer.

Forgetting lost their lives, and the army lost its memory.

Oblivion stood looking at the fleeing army, then saw Wishtah moving towards the north instead of the east, her skull shook satisfied, then distorted the reality around her, and lightning thunderbolts, before the scene swallows her up and disappears.
