Wang Zheng calmly watched the movement in the middle of the big stage.
There weren't as many instruments around as the night before and the sound tests had already been done previously, everything indicated that Yen Bai would sing. Really curious.
The queen was staring intently at the completely empty cabins of Liu Wei and Li Zhang, she was already missing her. She felt restless.
She was full of expectations and thoughts of the future.
It seemed completely impossible for her not to think about her girlfriend, they would very soon be able to attend some concert together representing the royal family and finally officially as a couple.
That simple thought already made her face heat up.
"Your Majesty..."
The queen was pulled out of her reverie by a male voice, turned her face briefly towards the direction where the voice was, Yen Bai was there along with her staff.
The man wore a fine suit. Beautiful and exquisite with its reddish fabric in contrast to the golden details.
The Bloody Spring seemed like a great opportunity for the guests to squander their wealth and power, the queen knew well that if a few could they would be completely shrouded in gold and gemstones.
"Yen Bai."
The beta smiled in an attempt to show sympathy. "Today I will sing for your majesty, I hope you like it...".
It was almost an obligation for the participants to go to the queen's box to greet her and in the same way that Chen Fu went to her, Yen Bai went too.
The queen smiled in response, trying to be equally sympathetic. "It will be a pleasure to listen."
Yen Bai possessed a strange aura that the queen never knew if she should really trust or feel uncomfortable.
The beta bowed briefly in respect to the queen and left with everyone who accompanied him.
It didn't take much longer than twenty minutes for the performance to finally begin.
Yen Bai entered the stage accompanied by a huge choir, they sang traditional songs, romantic songs and classical songs.
The beta made sure to choose songs that were known across the continent.
His voice resounded throughout the theater and the queen could feel her body vibrating to the beat of the music.
He excitedly sang and interacted with the audience and if they said he was an artist no one would doubt it, Yen Bai behaved exactly like one.
The presentations usually lasted about an hour and the time passed by relatively quickly.
Yen Bai mixed dramatic music with happy music and in one of those moments the theater became completely dark.
He closed his eyes and seemed to let himself be carried away by the choir and the moving sound of the orchestra.
His face was glistening with sweat and he seemed to sing more to himself than to the queen.
He held the microphone about to sing the last song and despite the sound of the instruments still present he tried to sing and his voice was no longer audible, the microphone was not working.
Wang Zheng can see the movement around the stage in an attempt to change the microphone.
But what she didn't expect to see was movement in the cabins that had been empty until then.
People ran in distress as if they were running from something.
"Huan Yang, go look what's going on…"
A loud explosion sound was present.
'BOOOOOM'
The queen barely managed to finish her sentence and was interrupted by a loud explosion.
Huan Yang hugged the queen in an attempt to protect her and they both didn't know exactly what was happening.
The only certainty the queen could have was that Huan Yang had fainted in her arms, he was heavier and taller than she was, Wang Zheng could not support the sudden weight of the alpha's body and the two collapsed to the ground.
The queen could hear the screams and crashes of something falling.
She couldn't tell if it took minutes or seconds, but after a while she could see several guards approaching and hurriedly removing the man above her and quickly escorting her out of the building.
"Remove the queen! The ceiling is collapsing!"
Meanwhile inside the palace, Liu Wei and Li Zhang were talking animatedly.
They had already had dinner and were eating some ice cream amid laughter.
Li Zhang was indeed a very nice woman, Liu Wei hoped in his heart that he could keep in touch with her even when this was all over.
Good friends were so rare they had to be grown like flowers in the middle of the desert.
Li Zhang put a scoop of ice cream in her mouth and stared at the young princess, they didn't bring up the subject throughout the meeting: queen, but it would be inevitable at one time or another they would have to talk about it.
After all, it wouldn't go unnoticed that the queen opened the door to Liu Wei's room while she was supposedly sleeping. "Weiwei… Are you and the queen together?"
"What do you think?"
Li Zhang smiled feeling funny. "I think that would make a great romance plot."
The young rose-scented omega already had vague suspicions that something different was going on between Liu Wei and Wang Zheng, but after discovering the strong diplomatic connection between Wang and Martana's country, she just thought that sudden intimacy was just two friends meeting each other.
But the suspicions in her heart lingered and each day the queen and little princess seemed closer and more involved.
Liu Wei briefly lowered her gaze, she couldn't help but feel the brief feeling of guilt for taking away Li Zhang's opportunity to win over Wang Zheng.
But despite the guilt she wasn't sorry.
"It just happened..."
Liu Wei had a strong sense of belonging, Wang Zheng was hers and hers alone.
Li Zhang smiled a little awkwardly. Yes, she really had lost to that child.
She sighed with slight regret.
She wasn't sad, but there was a slight trace of melancholy, the feeling of defeat was definitely not pleasant.
"Well, I understand... Who knew the queen would actually choose an omega..."
Liu Wei smiled and agreed with the other omega.
She really was right about the possibility that the queen might like another omega. "Yes, you were right about your assumptions."
Li Zhang knew that their relationship would at the very least be a big scandal if it was discovered, but she couldn't shake the temptation to find out more about it. "How long have you been together?"
Liu Wei couldn't help but smile as she saw the attentive eyes on her, they even appreciate longtime friends who often talked about their boyfriends and their adventures. "It hasn't been that long..."
Li Zhang was thoughtful for a few moments, she could feel some kind of hesitation coming from the young omega. "Are you afraid it won't work? You won't have time to date properly."
The young princess smiled a little wearily. She was scared to death, but was she that straight?
She played lightly with her fingers and let out a loud sigh. "Mom and Dad would probably arrange a marriage for me. I might have a kid or two and I would pretend to be happy... The future is uncertain and I'm very afraid of it, but I've already made my decision."
There was no fate in her future if Wang Zheng wasn't in it, Liu Wei already knew that.
Li Zhang felt slightly surprised at the mature way of commenting on the subject of the little princess and felt a little sad that that girl was stuck with so many obligations and status.
Well, Li Zhang was a princess only when it was convenient.
She wouldn't have to deal with marriages, let alone obligations on behalf of the nation.
Maybe she finally understood how lucky she was to be able to choose her steps according to her own will.
"I understood. You're so mature for your age..."
Liu Wei smiled feeling funny. "You think?"
Li Zhang nodded in agreement. "Yes, I probably didn't get married because I'm not a princess anymore, Dad doesn't have to force me into an arranged marriage."
"Aren't you interested in anyone? Do you like omegas?"
Li Zhang was never able to say whether or not she liked omegas, she liked people.
But when it came to pheromones, she really appreciated the sweet, smooth flavor that omegas possessed. "I like the smell... It's so sweet and tasty..."
The conversation was interrupted by Li Zhang's cell phone ringing.
"Hi Mom… Explosion? No... I didn't go today... Got it."
Liu Wei felt confused and couldn't help but be anxious to see Li Zhang's apprehensive face while still on the call.
She listened intently to every word in anticipation that she could finally understand what was being said.
But she could already be sure that something had happened.
"Liu Wei, there was an explosion in the theater..."
