Robert slowly opened his eyes; everything was a blur. All he could see was white.
In confusion, Robert thought, "Where the hell am I? Is this how heaven looks? I imagine it being more clouds and sunshine."
Robert heard a voice behind him, "You're in your subconscious, your mind. I've interfered with your dream, "
Robert turned around to see what seemed to be a child six years or younger wearing a smaller version of his outfit: black with a red stripe athletic shorts above the knee and a t-shirt with a red leaf on it.
"Nice outfit, looks similar to mine," Robert commented.
"I mean; I know it's super fashionable, but I'm just copying yours." The little boy said.
He then checks his watch. "Two minutes, let's get to the point. You're not dead, you're still in the mortal realm, but your Hometown, Rolly, was burnt to a crisp, and everyone who didn't die left."
Robert struggles to comprehend this spew of information, but then he remembers to ask, "Wait, what about my family; are they all dead: Susan, Tyra, mom, and dad; what about Stanley and Agatha? If Rolly decimated, where did they all go?"
In a more childlike tone, the boy stated, "I don't know, I don't know where they went; there are too many people on this Earth to locate them specifically, although I was lucky enough to find you." The boy switches to a serious tone. "The demons are coming; they're on their way. They fall from the skies like meteors, killing creatures of all sorts," the boy says in a serious tone.
"Why would I listen to a kid, DEMONS? What happened to Rolly must've been a dream; it came from folklore. Someone, please wake me up from this nightmare." Robert said distastefully.
Slowly the boy and his voice seemed to get further and further away. "Speaking of which, it's time to wake up. Make your decision to fight against the demons or not, but it's time to wake up, wake up."
Robert slowly opened his eyes; his vision was very blurry. He could only see two things: the brightly shining sun, which made it difficult to see, and a girl taller and most likely older than him solely based on their figure. Robert couldn't see her face.
Robert shot up. He almost hit the girl that was leaning over him. Robert backed away from her in shock.
"Who the hell are you?" asked Robert.
"My name is Katelyn, but most just call me Kate. I assume yours is Robert. Did you know you talk a lot in your sleep? You were talking about your outfit," said the girl with haste.
"Hold on, Kate; You're talking too fast. You were spying on me in my sleep. That's creepy," Robert said, trying to slow her down.
'Are you ok? Are you injured? Let me check you for wounds." Kate continued.
A kid, maybe 10, walked up to Robert and then asked him, "Are you alright."
"Yea, I'm ok," Robert said, "What's your name."
With the visor of his hat over his face, the kid said, "That's great, but I am no mere child; no child at all, matter of fact."
"Don't listen to him; he's just a young one named Micheal, but you can call him Mike… Well, get up already." Kate said while patting Mike on the head.
Then she whispered in Mike's ear, "Robert might be suspicious of you. You need to be cautious of the words you use."
"I know you don't have to worry about me," Mike casually said.
Robert lowly gets off the ground, "Wel,l my home is gone due to those vampires, so I don't have anywhere to go."
Kate then asked Robert, "We're going to the capital; would you like to come."
"Robert, I recommend you join us, or else you'll be alone out here in the wild. What if the demons come back," Mike commented.
Robert recalled his dream, "The demons are coming; they're on their way."
Fear suddenly overtook Robert, "We're all going to die." Robert continuously repeated.
Kate slapped Robert, knocking him out of his frenzy. " So you've had that dream too. You have to come with us, right outside the capital."
She quickly dragged Robert towards the capital. Mike sprinted behind them.
"I DIDN'T EVEN AGREE TO GO!" Robert yelled 0ut's louder than the wind.
Robert thought, "Well, Kate must know about the dream. At least a dream that was similar. I won't ponder it too, too much. It's not like I can stop her now anyway; Her grip is unnecessarily tight on his arm. He was struggling to hold back his tears from the immense pain.
Mike, Robert, and Kate made their way toward the capital. They had plans to go to a nearby forbidden area for your average human, but for those wanting to be protectors of humankind.
