Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

A gust of wind blew a few strands of her black hair, but it didn't bother Alka Hester. He kept his focus on the phone screen and didn't pay attention to his surroundings.

The noise of the vehicle seemed not to disturb his hearing. Alika just mumbled following the music she was playing, and walked leisurely following the flow of the sidewalk.

Alika wants to cross the road. However, his focus was still on the phone screen, whereas he knew. It's not good to play with your phone while it's running or life in exchange.

Alika didn't care about it, even though many of the passersby screamed and tried to call her. From a distance they saw a truck with a large load speeding towards Alika. The girl didn't move, her ears were covered with earphones that blocked her hearing.

Alika realized there was something strange ahead. People seemed to be screaming before they had time to open their earphones, Alika saw a truck speeding towards her.

As if time had stopped, Alika couldn't go forward or back her whole leg bones were weak as if they were melting and couldn't be moved and so was her voice. Alika wanted to call for help, but she couldn't scream.

The truck was only a few meters away. The truck driver tried to slow down. However, the car's brakes are not working properly.

Alika sat crouched while covering her face and tried to scream as loud as possible. However, in reality it was in vain. Alika surrendered and shed tears in her embrace. His cell phone fell into the hard paved road, and the earphones were no longer useful after this.

People around trying to help. However, they were too afraid to take such an insane act.

Alika feels this is the end of her life. After a few seconds, a flash of shadow came. Those on the side of the road did not have time to see what figure had just passed them. It felt like a quick gust of wind was hitting their faces.

When both of their eyes opened, at that moment the uncontrollable truck managed to stop without hurting the girl in front of it.

A man dressed in black managed to block the speed of the car with only one hand. While the other hand tried to protect the girl whose life was almost taken.

The adults who were around witnessed the hero's extraordinary action. They still couldn't digest the events they had just seen. There was no object that the man used to stop the truck, it was all purely from the power that came from his hands.

Alice tried to open her eyes. His feelings were mixed with an enormous fear in his chest. You can imagine how dark it is in the realm of death.

"I am dead?"

Slowly the two beautiful eyes opened, looking around which still looked the same as before. Alika tries to grasp the situation now, Alika feels something touch her shoulder. However, what is felt is real and not just a dream.

"Who are you?" Alika whispered while looking at the face of the man who was very close to her. Only the strands of their clothes are the barrier.

The man glanced at Alika, his gaze was flat and not a single word came out of his thick lips. Alika swallowed her saliva hard when she looked at the two men's navy blue beads.

After looking at each other. The man who didn't want to say his name immediately left and disappeared very quickly as if swept away by the wind.

Alika is still sitting on the asphalt, looking at the big truck in front of her eyes now. The front of the truck was dented and there were palm marks from the man.

Alika couldn't stop swallowing her saliva, chuckling in admiration at the thought that the man who had just helped her was a superhero in the movies.

Alika began to feel weak, her head was spinning as if the world wanted to fall on her. Slowly her vision began to blur until Alika closed her eyes and became unconscious.

At Hester's house. Alika, who was unconscious after the incident on the highway, had to be escorted home by several people who were there.

Agatha Hester was sitting restlessly waiting for Alika to wake up, which had made her heart want to escape from its place.

The 40-year-old woman is petite and has wrinkles on her face, not expecting to see her only daughter come home unconscious. So far, Alika has no history of serious illness, Agatha immediately gives some medicine capsules to restore Alika's consciousness.

An hour later, Alika slowly moved her little fingers, Agartha gasped and immediately grabbed Alika's hand tightly.

"You're awake, honey."

After a while, Alice opened her eyes. His first glance fell on the face of a woman he hadn't seen for a day.

"Mommy."

Alika hastily got up and sat back down, looking at the woman who was staring at her with tears in her eyes.

"Never make Mommy worry. If you're not feeling well, then don't go to school. You want Mommy to die early?"

Alika rolled her eyes, she immediately pushed the body of the woman who hugged her very tightly. Alika realizes that her mother is currently very worried.

"What did Mommy say? Alika doesn't want Mommy to go fast. I love Mommy."

There weren't many words for the girl to say. Now Alika who turned to hug Agatha with teary eyes and feelings that can't be expressed in a sentence.

"Mommy."

Agatha closed her eyes. His heart could feel that there was something Alika was trying to say. However, Agatha didn't want to hear it now. Holding Alika tightly, she doesn't want her daughter to leave. Alika is all he has now.

Alika did not continue her words, indirectly she felt her mother's body shaking violently and there was a deep sense of fear. Alika realizes that her mother must be in shock over what happened earlier.

****

That night, Alika was sitting on the edge of the bedroom window looking at the full moon that was shining perfectly.

"Beautiful night looking for the Stars." Alika continued to pay attention to the sky which seemed different from the previous nights.

Alika tries to find the sparkle of Bintang. However, not a single star appeared tonight and seemed to have disappeared from the expanse of the night sky.

Alika scratched her head which didn't itch, then folded her arms across her chest as if in thought. "Will it rain tonight?"

Alika looked for the cloud, but there was no white cloud of steam in the sky for now. "I don't think so. Tonight the sky is very clear, but why are there no stars?"

The girl who has a dimple on her right cheek and wavy black hair, came out of the room to see directly whether the sky was covered by clouds or not?

In fact no clouds were found tonight, which looks like a full moon shining perfectly. However, there was no Star accompanying him.

"Alice." Agatha entered without knocking on the door. In his hands he carried a tray of orange juice and a plate of snacks.

Alika looked back and found Agatha was putting the tray she was carrying on the table, Alika immediately approached Agatha and asked.

"Mommy. Isn't it a full moon every night the stars won't appear in the sky?"

Alika's question made Agatha gasp a little and almost dropped the juice she was carrying. Alika saw her mother's attitude turned nervous as if she was hiding something.

"Mommy, are you okay? Why is Mommy sweating?"

Agatha could not hide her nervousness and fear in front of Alika. The sweat that came suddenly and dripped down the face was immediately noticed by Alika.

Agatha hastily wiped the sweat with a tissue which was not far from the table. Alika raised an eyebrow and looked at the woman in front of her in surprise.

Agatha took a deep breath. "What does Mommy's daughter want to know now?"

Agatha had no other way but to ask so. Because he knows what his daughter is like. Alika will not stop until she gets the answer to her question.

"Mommy is great. Mommy seems to be able to read my mind." Alice chuckled a little.

Agatha frowned and smiled faintly even though in her mind she kept looking for ways to make excuses if Alika asked nonsense later.

"Mommy should come with me and see all this."

Without thinking, Alika pulled Agatha's hand excitedly towards the courtyard of her room and of course asked her mother to look at the strange things in the sky.

"Mommy must see the sky tonight." Alika pointed at the full moon which looks bigger in size than the previous nights.

Agatha rolled her eyes in surprise. However, in fact he did not find anything strange as Alika explained earlier.

"What's with the moon, isn't it beautiful?"

Agatha responded casually. However, not with Alika, who looked surprised at her mother's attitude, which seemed unconcerned.

"Mommy must look up at the sky. Today's Star--"

Alika didn't continue her words and opened her mouth wide and her eyes widened as if she wanted to let go now.
